EJazzle, i'm in no rush to get the board before you do. i just don't understand what's wrong with him wanting $300 instead of the $280 you offered him.

and people werent so greedy about getting an extra 100 bucks on a board just cuz the name says cassette

for example i have an 06 devotid bi and no one is selling one of those board for 300 bucks

i know cassette stopped making boards and everthing but an 06 devotid is just as rare as an 06 cassette

DIRK, it's not just about rarity, it's about personal value and having people that are interested and willing to pay. Cassette has a deeper history that devotid has not yet had the chance to create. And it just so happens that a number of cassettes have managed to hold their value. I think that part is actually kind of cool, or pretty amazing. An 02 boombox flat deck originally sold for right around 100.00 in 2002 and sold for 200.00 a few months ago on ebay.

anyway, it's not the norm for a product to hold its value like that (like somoene said, supply and demand) but a few boards have managed to do just that and then some.

Are you talking about the cassette lady? a few of us bought boards from here on there. But again, it's the supply and demand thing. I wish I knew what the production numbers were for cassette, but even so, there aren't enough for sale to satisfy the demand that currently exists. I can for sure remember some mint 05 41s that were on ebay for like 40 bucks and they didn't sell, but this past winter a used one sold for 160.00. Furthermore, boarder's paradise blew out a bunch of 4-tracs on ebay at the end of 2003 and a friend of mine on here bought one super cheap, maybe like 150.00 or something.

electricsnow, in 04 i went on wb.com and i offered this guy 100 bucks. i forgot all about it and went back on early this year and he said "yeah 100 bucks sounds great! where should i ship it too?" i about headbutted the wall next to me. i coulda had a mint 4 trac for 100 bucks.
