and not to hijack this thread but look at the newest droppings; they made a whole blog about US on wakeskating.com. and it isn't exactly glorifying us the whole time either...if we argue and b!tch so much that other people discuss it on OTHER websites then we should all step back and fix what is wrong. the writer of that is right we aren't giving our 2 cents anymore but rather out cruel comments and harsh posts. i'm included and guilty in doing these in the past i beleive most of us are so guys...let's just all get along and not put eachother down,hell you could even apologize for past happenings

But that's the thing. This site IS an easy way to meet people to ride with anywhere in the US. It's global and people from other countries have used this site to meet people in the US, and I'm sure it's worked the other way as well. If you do care about getting along with people, or having any level of credibility at all, it is best to post intelligently and respectfully. They may only know you by your screen name, but it can go a long way, and some people learn that the hard way.

You're never gonna change people's posts because text messaging and AIM have ruined every teenager's grammar and spelling. It has nothing to do with freedom, and as far as post content is concerned I think it's more of a responsibility that some people have to keep things going in the "right" direction instead of just starting some random "anonymous" screen name and just running their mouth about how so-and-so is such a hack. That kind of crap turns people off and makes the industry folk that do read this site think it's a waste of time.

still though, think of it like this: some younger kid goes to Barts or a similar store and buys a wakeskate and gets super pumped about trying it but needs someone to show him the ropes about how to do everything. he goes on the internet uses google types in wakeskating and of course wakeskating.com is bound to pop up as a result and he makes an account all stoked to learn and he looks through some forums and sees all the crap we say to eachother but posts his questions about how to get up and what to try anyways. if another poster replies with something like "use the search button dumbass" (and i have seen posts very similar to that) and if he isn't hurt enough to stop posting he posts a picture of his board and it probably isn;t a high end skate and everyone says it sucks and blahblahblah then he will lose the stoke and anticipation he once had when he was at the checkout counter ready to try something fun and exciting in which we call wakeskating. this kid could have really done something for the sport and gotten older and helped kids who were just like him and tell them what they need to do instead that wakeskate he bought at Barts is now propped up in a corner for decoration rather than being shredded for the pure joy of it.
