After learning a trick, id suggest learning it every way possible. Dont rush and try to be throwin kickies the next day out. If u got shuvs in the Heelside flats try them reentry, if you get that, take them toeside flats, then toesides reentry. After you got those dialed go for them inside out both ways also. After that get comfortable riding switch and start throwing switch shuvs everywhere i mentioned above. This will get you comfortable on both sides of the wake and give you the confidence on the toeside that ive seen many riders lack in the learning stages. Also it will help mold you into a fairly well rounded rider being able to go cut back and forth linkin tricks inside out both ways and flats both ways. After you got shuvs all over the place do the same with front side 180's then back side 180s, then consider a few lip tricks, get comfortable sliding frontside/backside/frontboard/backboard/backlip/frontlip then try like front shuv out out lip or a 270 shuv out of lip which should come easy to you if u have shuvs down everywhere. After the 270 you should be more then comfortable on the water and should be developing some serious style and should be more then ready your first big trick.. the 3 shuv. If you are having problems with certain tricks such as the switch shuv, try putting your board on the dock/carpet/floor of some kind, and tie a handle to somthing (door handle/pyling/bed post) and do your tricks on the floor once you can do it perfectly land with your feed nice and wide, this will help tremendously. Also if you have Access to a trampoline, do the same tie that handle to a tree or fence and go to town. Like i mentioned before, dont get ahead of yourself, get comfortable and learn board controll. With good confidence, and comfortable board controll you can do just about anything in due time. Good luck if you have any more questions im only a PM away. |

I always thought people went to 180s before shuvs but I guess not. I could 180 the barrel at odub before I could shuv _________________ -Paul |
