I took a set yesterday that i feel ended a week of poor luck/skatin for me. Last week was full of windy days and people roughting up calm water tubing. Further more last friday I was working on my wake2wake pokes when i lose the board mid-air. Some how I get bonked in the head (with the wakeskate) and pass out. Unfortunatlely i wasn't wearing a vest and sank. Luckily i woke up tangled in weeds and made it to the surface. (I now always wear a vest). I decided to break up with wakeskating for a few days.
Fast forward a few days later and i am back on the water. I was working on FS bigs. I almost caught my first bigspin ever but the board flies out from under my feet, throwing me into a summersault type of fall that makes wakeskating fun to crash. Well my arm was in the wrong place at the right time and my wrist got tangled in the line. Next thing i know i am getting dragged by the boat. Not a fun thing to do. I never really realized how long it takes to stop a fully weighted boat untill then. To my supprise i still have both hands attached. Nothing broken just kind of mangled. So once again i break up with wakeskating for a few days.
Yesterday, I got back on the horse. Just trying to do maitnence riding, working on consistancy, my basic shuvs, and 180s. Fun stuff, everything is going pretty well. Got a couple of good lines in. I decide to try a couple of I/O kickys, I have never really came close to one. but for some reason the sun and the moon lined up right and i am coming dangerously close to these flict kickys. The boat hoes are going bananas. I finally tire myself out and call it a day. Even though I didn't ride away from any of them, I think it makes up for the 2 horiffic beatings I took earlier in the week. |

Hey man feel blessed for anytime you get on the water. Some of us arent even so fortunate to get to ride once a week. so even tho those falls sound pretty harsh, never take it for granted that you are able to ride so much.
Sick to hear your so close to landin that kickflip tho, ive got aways to go before i climb that mountain. |
