it doesn't really. but i say this for one main reason.

for one, i looooove the stoke that gets built up about it. i come on to ws.com a couple times a day and get so stoked reading about new products, innovations, riders and founders of such great companies as Integrity that are so devoted to the consumers and the overall love of the sport. as soon as i log off, I'm brought back to the realization that I'm in between Baltimore and DC, and have no boat, no lake, no winch, no ski, and certainly no real connections with people that have these things. sure i have a friend that has a lake, boat, and pwc, and i do occasionally ride. but the fact that i feel so devoid and deprived of something that i love just kills me. i want to ride every day. or at least once a week. i would even be content in riding once every month or two. but the most i can hope for is about 2-3 times a year. wakeskating is something that i feel is a great culture, and i just feel left out on the whole scene. it's late, I've been fighting with my girlfriend, and I'm too tired to even try to convey my feelings and even try to form coherent sentences. but i just thought I'd share with you all my love for wakeskating, and the frustration that i feel is inevitable.

Sometimes you just gotta say.. fvck it. and get in your car and drive. There's plenty of cats in MD that are shreddin'. Isn't there like a 80 page thread of people in Maryland that ride?

Dude i feel the exact same way. Just started riding awhile ago and only get to ride maybe once a week with my dad pulling me and no one else really to ride with. But the thing is im on this site constantly, and i mean constantly. Anyone that lives at the Lake of the Ozarks hit me up!! ive seen some other wakeskaters down there.

tad is exactly right, and it's pretty bad to the bone that you have an offer on the table from someone like Raven.

I have never ever ridden locally. i always had to drive 1.5 hours one way, minimum, to get out on the water. For the past couple of years I'd drive 3 hours one way to ride for an hour, if I couldn't ride at our cabin. Now it's a bit more difficult because of fuel costs and such, but it just comes down to how bad you want to ride, and I just consider the drive and the journey to be a part of the lifestyle, because for me, to ride is an event. I'd definitely hit up the raven if I were you, or maybe try the "find a pull" forum to see if there's anyone closer. by finding those other people to ride with, that's how you expose yourself to other riding styles, new vibes and also the various towing devices you've mentioned. I hadn't ridden behind a PWC until 2006 Laughing, which was when I started to ride with other people on this site .

wakemitch, I haven't! Last spring I tried to go with those OC boys and the winch broke before I got my chance. It was actually just cool to be a part of it and see it work because it's something else entirely. After that went down moral was low, but we did squeeze out some fun in the form of puddle shredding and hitting a fun box they had used for snowskating.

I only have to walk 300 feet from my door to the boat. And I ride everyday.

Maybe I should stop bitching if it gets windy and I only get a 10min set. Shocked

I drove over an hour just to pick up Mitch and then another 30 minutes to go ride at Adam's. We had a blast even when the conditions weren't great. For a while I drove an hour to Seminole a few days a week to ride with Kyle. Go ride with Raven. On the way home you will realize that it was way worth it. Damn.. I know I would if I lived that close.

TAD, that day was awesome.

electricsnow, thats why we have the norcal convergences. it gives everyone a chance to winch, ride behind a pwc, boat, and hit rails. The first convergence was my first time hitting a rail, attempting winching Smash , and riding behind a pwc.

Raven, sounds like you need to set up a New England Convergence
