Well my neighbor has a 12ft fiberglass rowboat that they said I could have for a cheap price. It's a "fixer upper" for sure though, I might beable to get a 50 to put on it. My question is should I take it for the $35 or just look around for an aluminum hull? I'm scared this boat might not be able to handle a motor. Anybody work with fiberglass? Is it hard to work with?

heres a picture of the hull

I just want something I can leave in the water and take out everyday. I can't leave my ski in the water and I'm not old enough to drive it to the ramp.

I'd definitely hold out for an aluminum boat. There is also no way you'd get a 50 on that.

Lousy Hero, dude, just wait until you can drive your ski. or when your friends can if you are younger than them.

My buddy just got his license and i went from riding like once every two weeks to riding almost every week day.

Didn't wanna make a new thread, so im bringing this one back up.

What is the smallest you could go on a jon boat for a lemonscraft?

Like is there some kind of cut off where its just gunna be unstable when your towing? Because there is a bunch of REALLY cheap 10-12footers on craigslist and im in a similar situation to Lousy with my jetski.

(im not asking you to tell me to wait for my liscence)

thx for the info in advance

You can go 10 feet if the boat is good. You should see blakes boat, its super small!

And as far as engine, some 25s are stronger then 35s. It all depends on how good it runs and how good the compression is. Ect.

I looked a bit on engine size and people say 25hp is for like a 14 foot +

So is there some kind of special tabs or something im gunna have to put on to mount a 25-35hp?

for 35 bucks id take it. Clean it up for like 10 and then put some weight in the front and put a 20-30 hp engine on the back.
