Wooden Integrities?

I'm sorry that this thread is about to be hijacked, but a wooden integ?! What a load of bull, if this is true then I have absolutely no respect for New. Their name is pretty ironic, seeing as they haven't built an original shape yet.

Sad that the wakeskate business is still filled with snakes. Evil or Very Mad

Schmaltz, my fault. i dont know what i am talkin about. his board is a 40. its a custom. he had new make it. its not the exact same,,,, ,its a 40 inch ON THE DOT, integ doesnt make a deck that size it has probly more then an inch more concave and way more kicktails, its wood... weighs a good few more pounds then an integ, .... Its alex's custom board and he is the only one who has it. No one is getting ripped off. trust me it doesnt ride/ feel like ANY of my integs at all. sorry for my lack of thinking before posting,,,

EJazzle, so in other words, it's the same shape. With marginally different concave, BUT it's an inch shorter so it somehow isn't a rip off?

EJazzle, you're the one defending New, that's the only reason why I'm replying to you.

I'm just saying that if New is doing this it is total BS and they should be chastised by the wakeskating community for it. I can't think of one original New shape, and I'm fed up with all the copying and stealing.

Do you not understand how much blood sweat and tears have gone into that design, and why it is thus wrong to copy it?? It's complete garbage man, put yourself in Erich's shoes.

If you don't like New's "original" shapes then why bother riding for them?

If anything you can blame me for "stealing" if stealing entails that i enjoy riding a 40 inch wakeskate that is 15.5 inchs wide with wide nose and tail. I have trial and errored many boards and found this to be my happy medium. Its not even like this board is for sale to anyone, its my measurements and my deck... I dont plan on ever selling it, and NEW did not make a penny off of it to me.

DRAGON88, Please bring me an integrity, and we can place the 2 boards next to each other and consider the vast differences in appearance, length, width concave, kicktails, weight, bottom, outside, core and other building material. -=AlexXx=-, I may be a "mod" but that doesn't mean I'm not going to call out companies who seem to take liberty to copy any shape they want. Believe it or not, yes I do have opinions, and yes I am allowed to have them, and furthermore I am allowed to voice them. Smile

I would love to see some comparison pics next to the integrity. See the thing here is, that there is far more to wakeskate shape than two dimensions, you know this, I know this so let's stop with the BS of pretending that these two dimensions are what dictates the shape of the board.

Car manufactures actually would sue each other if one company was building the exact same car with their badge on it. It's called intellectual property rights, and from the sounds of it New does not have Erich's blessing to be reproducing HIS shape.

Also, if your skate is so "vastly" different from the Integrity, then why won't New mass produce it? I mean if it's not a copy of Erich's shape then there should be no problem right? You defended them by saying that they are not mass producing them, but this seems to imply guilt that the two skates are rather similar.

The layout of the skate, pre-kicks, shape, etc were all something ORIGINAL that INTEGRITY brought to wakeskating. What innovations has New brought to the industry?

Again, New Wakeskates has absolutely ZERO right to be producing ANY wakeskates that are rip offs of Integrity, or any other brand. That shape is distinctive, as is the concave of that skate, so let's not lie to ourselves and try to claim that to be the "natural" shape of a wakeskate.

This is not about new copying an general idea like a wakeskate, or a fin, or wheels on a car. This is new copying a SPECIFIC spec and SHAPE of wakeskate that they had no hand in designing and are now blatantly copying.

Sorry for harshing your mellow bro, but these kinds of dishonest, disrespectful actions are whats wrong with the wakeskating industry. Yours is NOT the first "wooden integrity" I've heard of. I've heard of a few floating around OWC, but I don't know who made them, so I'm not going to call New out on it.

You can argue all you want to try and justify what New did. But at the end of the day, they took a SHAPE from a different manufacturer and COPIED it for one of their riders.

See the difference that you seem to be missing, and it IS a big one. That is an individual, where as New is a COMPANY with a CNC machine COPYING other COMPANIES' SHAPES. Again, please stop trying to play me like an idiot. I know things, and I know people son, you're not gonna be able to pull the wool over my eyes.
