Sony Handycam HDR-CX7

Anybody shoot with this before? I'm interested in getting one and I'm wondering if it's worth the money or if I should just get a cheaper non HD camera.

also i am not to sure which editing programs support AVCHD. its a pretty new compression format.

AVCHD is a beeeeotch to edit unless you have a super fast core2duo processor, or even better get a quad core processor. the quads are where its at for video editing.

Ive been doing a lot of research on cheap HD cameras lately. the canon hf-100 http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/539291-REG/Canon_2708B001_VIXIA_HF_100_AVCHD_Flash.html
seems like the legit way to go. 629 bucks at b and h too. slap a 16gb SD card into it and you can record 2 hrs of footy to it. the canon can do 24p and 30p. It has a single CCD, but its huge so it works better than most cheap cameras in low light.
