what is the difference in making a multi-layer skate rather than a solid one piece with concave sanded into it? is there a difference?
...can't wait to try and make my own skate. i got my brother into wakeskating so he is gonna help. he works at a body shop and works with shaping fiberglass and stuff so it should be fun _________________ if theres no future in it, at least theres a present worth remembering.

well to just sand concave into a board would take a long long long time and would be very labor intensive basically. Other than that no, not really. _________________ "Wakeskating is...not fun. Its about getting in the water, landin your effin tricks and gettin out."

jcoffey, you are going to need one thick piece of wood, and a good belt sander if you are going to get anywhere into that wood.
you can always try both |

| instead of trying to sand out the insides to make concave you can build up the rails and the nose and tail and then sand em smooth. its a little more work when youre sticking it all together but a hell of alot easier than sanding that shizzle. |

| laminating thin layers creates a stronger board then just one piece sanded down. |

yea, sam hill is right, the more layers you use, the stronger it'll be. _________________ Team Dream Sleds
