Here ya go Ladies a story to show you chauvinism is alive and well......

So I was making a midnight run to the grocery store for some Guiness, and a guy noticed my Tric Wake and Moto shirt (my friends shop), and asked me if I had ever heard of wakeskating, and I gave him the whole speel about here and team pirate and blah blah blah, anyways he asked me if I went to Irvine, and he asked me if I met any pros, and who I was most stoked to meet, so I said top 3 in no order were Brandon Thomas, Thomas Horrell, and Dallas Friday, b/c I think that any chick that hucks is a bad ass( I mentioned Savanna Barber somwhere in there), and takin away there tour stops and D ups is gay etc. so he starts rippin up chick riders, and how none of that will change untill they step it up BLAH BLAH BULLJIVE, so I wanted to know how y'all would react to that, and how many chicks on this site ride, and whatcha can do, I already know E-Snow (we got our differences, but I respect any woman that throws down), but the rest of you need to represent

In snowboarding it was kind of the same thing. Girls didn't throw really big tricks like guys did. But then they got better and better and some like Tara Darkridge (sp?) even has parts in videos and RIPS (say bs rodeo 5 off a rainbow rail...).

From what I've seen in the latest wakeboarding videos girls are starting to get to the point where they deserve a part.

It's all about the riding level. A few years back all girls did where back rolls, tantrums and some did raleys... Now look at all the tricks they can pull!

Give it some more time and we'll soon have chicks in videos with parts as good as the mens...

Nekkie, I sorta agree w/ you; but my point was I don't see how less comps, and removing double ups from said comps is good, b/c it's infinitely harder for a girl to come up free riding, so I think womens wakeboarding needs comps, but I also think it doesn't need guys like that saying crap like "oohhh they suck there boring, they'll never be as good as the guys" thats just the negative bs that caused that to happen in the first place, and then after all that has been taken away be like oh NOW get better! I know a couple chicks who could eat that guys children(and mine for that matter) on a snowboard, snowskate, and skateboard, and I got another female friend that wakeboards sick status, of course her first couple of times riding was w/ Sam Owens so of course she'd rip ( hopefully I can convince them to come ride with Team Pirate )

kento911, I really couldn't care less about competition.

It doesn't reflect AT ALL the actual level of riding imo... When you look at the riding in videos and compare it to the riding in the same year pro tour, you see a big difference.

That's of course cause in the video they got 2 tons of weight in the boat, can try the trick over and over again, etc...

But in the end that's what you want to see: the best tricks in the best conditions, on the sickest spots and ramps...

Now guys dissing girls prolly never saw one riding hard Afro

I agree comps are a pretty crappy representation, but my point was that you'll be hard pressed to find a company that will pay a girl to free ride, Im saying it's needed as rider support and a way for new riders to get their name out,( much the way the guys use it) you know, two stops doesn't allow for much diversity, and no D up, seems to condone "stand up riding" at least IMHO
but I agree wholly, videos are much better representation, and as far as guys talking ish, your absolutely right, also it's an ego issue with some guys, I know some can't handle there extreme sports macho image being challenged by a girl with skills

i enjoy having chicks on the boat and trying to get them to ride and i wish we had a lot more chicks rippin on the skates. we need elissa steamer chicks on wakeskates

I understand that wakeboarding at a PRO level would be too hard for a gril. They wont be able to go as high as the guys...

But in wakeskate it's less about muscle and how high you can go / land from without poping your knee...

So maybe we'll see some girls competing with the boys on wakeskates Razz

Nekkie, marquardt competed last year in the skating, and apparently savannah competed this year, though neither advanced to sunday in irvine.

scott a, yeah, I don't think anyone is denying, that womens wakeboarding, is behind the mens, but I was trying to address the issue that peolpe sorta crapped on them, I met Melissa, and Dallas, and they were pretty cool, and pretty good when I've seen them ride and the whole "well girls aren't as good as they guys so they don't deserve the same respect", I think I was more pissed that the guy was like oh yeah I see how you were stoked to meet those guys but F-Dallas Friday, girls suck, I was just trying to say, that was the attitude that put girls in the place they are now, as a side note, I think I saw Savanna Barber podium this year, against the guys, not on the pro tour but at an independant event, correct me if Im wrong though, ironically not a single girl has posted though

why is it ironic that no girls have posted? the only real girl the posts often that i know of is electricsnow, and like i said she left for vacation today...

and why is it bad that this guy doesnt like girls' riding? its his opinion. so what if he'd like to see something other than a backroll or tantrum or 3 every now and again...

and IDK, but there are other women on this site, but since you obviously have your heart set upon disagreement lets just leave it at this

fine. if you like watching girls huck 5s, roll to reverts and grabbed tantrums, then more power to ya. i believe they SHOULD have some tour stops, but i would like to see some advancement in their riding, or at least for some of the riders to differentiate themselves stylistically from the others. insulting people may not be an opinion, but opinions can certainly insult...

and im not saying there ARENT any girls here, only that ive only noticed one.
