|
|
| Its memorial day and all so my family threw a little party and i was out wakeskating behind the jetski, and my little brother was driving and his friend was spotting, i guess his friend got influenced and wanted to try it. So i let him... i was close to shore in some shallow water trying to give him some tips and help him up and my bro kept messing with the reverse handle and BAM i heard the jetski stall out and the rope was caught in the prop. Of course my dad was pissed and we didnt have a spotter so that kinda made things a little worse, seeing as if we had one this probably wouldnt have happened. Anyways to make a long story short does anyone have any tips on getting a rope out of the prop. The jetski has a grate and the rope is all in that to. and we really dont want to bring it to the honda dealer being hes on the other side of town. |

Cut it.....it's probably melted on, well atleast mine was when I ran over it. Or take off the grate and just spin the drive shaft in the reverse direction it's wrapped in. _________________ http://www.flickr.com/photos/nizzate/ |

| i had that same thing happen. i had to undo as much of it as i could, but then it just was wrapped up to tight, and a knife wouldnt do the trick. i had to get a soldering iron, and heat it up and burn through the rope till it all fell out. though i can get my jetski on a trailer so it was easy to work under. if you cant, just get a VERY sharp knife so you can cut out what needs to be cut. |

Im not sure about honda's but i sucked up my rope on my seadoo...tried to unscrew the intake grate and the screw head snapped off bc they factory seal the grate with locktite on the screws and silicone the seal. _________________ Part of the Lifestyle

| cloudeater, no it didnt actually get into the prop on the ski, i just was wrapped around the shaft, but the rope got really tight around the shaft right by the part where it comes into the motor, thats why i had to use the soldering iron to get it off. |

| hondas are sealed around the intake so you can't just unscrew it. take your time and cut the rope out with a knife. |

| Ive actually never ran over a rope but ive been present when other people have and I usually end up being the one that has to cut it out. Whenever i have newbs drive my ski though Im always on the lookout for them to run over the rope while driving me. Ive saved many a rope this way. |
