I'd rather not drill holes in my beautiful devotid just so that I can put in some fins that I will probably only use for the first month of the season to get used to riding on the water again.

Can I drill holes in the fins and not have the bolts just fall out? how does this work? why can't I make sense to even myself?

indiana jones tonight

i'll be there

or will i?

if the fins are wide enough at the point where the hole needs to be then you can drill the hole and then tap a thread into the fin using a machine tap to match the screw you have

Lollar, considering the extremely stupid idea of superglueing them on..... will anyone condone this heinous act? Smash Smash

just drill fins yo. after you drill the holes, seal it with something.
i drilled holes in mine and now will never go back finless. i didn't even seal the holes with anything and it's all good.
devotid bionic wood ftw

Mario C, so drilling holes in the bottom deck = not going to kill it?

should i drill the holes where the fins fit best, or close to there the existing holes are?

I bet glue is gonna end in epic fail... $5 on it ripping the PBT off or the fin falling off Laughing

i'd try to drill holes or something if you plan to use them alot, other than that i'm not sure. i wish we had known they wouldn't fit a devotid

uidzero, well I wouldn't have cared if the fin fell off, I was kinda expecting that.... but wind of the PBT coming off is where I go from leaning towards glue, to not considering it Smash Smash

I think I'll just go finless Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes (atleast for this weekend)

is there holes already drilled for the devotid fins??

heres some pics of my board. i originally drilled the holes an inch in from where you see the location now. it was too much drag, so i moved them all the way out and they are perfect.

so i have four holes drilled on each end and no water damage.
this board will not break. i'm trying.

lumpy pants, i may be a little bias considering the builder of devotid is one of my homies, but the truth is that i have ridden alot of boards and the onward 40.5 is THE BEST board i have ridden. before this board the best board i ever rode was a cassette bilevel.
i prefer bilevels in general mainly because of the weight. i am way more consistant with three shuvs with a heavier board.
i havn't been working on flip tricks since i started riding bilevels. i have tried a few v-flips but havent got the flick too consistant yet.
my i/o 3 shuvs have gotten big and consistant lately. i struggled with those on lighter boards.
i am kinda a puss on w2w but have really been workin my little wake i have behind my boat. the board feels real solid and stable on w2w. i am really comfortable charging on this board.
i have also dialed in my b/s 1's since i put fins on. i think that might be a mental issue though.

oury has been stomping flip tricks on these boards.
