How do you view the gap between pros and all of us rec. riders. I personally don't view it as being all that huge. The view I have of a pro in any sport is that they should be soo much better than a good, core fun rider that it makes your head spin. I just don't see it yet with our sport. Think it will happen? Am I completely off base? It's just a discussion a few of us had the other night and just want to hear other peoples views on the topic.
And before a bunch of you post " don't worry about it, it's just about having fun!" I know it's all about having fun, that's the only reason I do it.I also know the sport's still young as I'm sure someone will say ,so no need to point that out either. Just tryin to bring up something that will have a bunch of different opinions, that's all. |

| There are many "joes" out there and are better than some "pros" in my opinion, but its all about getting your name out there. Someone who only rides in there backyard will probably never go pro or ride for a company. A joe can become a pro not only by having skill but by riding in comps, and cable lakes, etc. |

| Oh I completely agree with that. The thing is, were's the huge gap, when's it gonna be there like it should be to even consider yourself a pro, know what I mean. |

There's a huge gap between pro riders and just recreational riders. There's still a gap between serious riders too. And a huge consistency gap. I consider myself a pretty serious rider, i try to progress and i ride almost daily. But i can tell you I am nowhere near the consistency of pros, and i'm definitely not landing the flip tricks they are, or anything else for that matter.
Big....Gap. |

| hahaha well from my point its huge, i hardly ride, i can hardly ollie... so from me to them, gigantic, but i've seen some videos of other people, and i would still say pretty big, those guys have everything under control, they have the speed to a pin point, they land perfectly almost every time, they have so much more control than most people like Mario C said |

pro's ride so often it's hard not to get better/consistent. once you get picked up like that it gives you all the time in the world to just ride. i came close to my first k flip today. i was thinking if i land that what else can i do because i always thought it was kinda not possible for me, but i'm realizing i was wrong. i mean to be a pro you need v flips, w2w 3's both ways, insane rail skills, and backside everything. just ride and have fun. everything else will come. there is way too much politics in wakeboarding(wakeskating) for me it's just the best experience in the world just to get up and look at the shore line of tree's and forget about anything not under my feet _________________ "I said take me to the sea, cause that is where I want to be. i think it is a small gap or else we have no new pros in the next years look at the young kids in wakeskating, skateboarding or snowboarding there is no real gap _________________ hang loose or rock'n'roll
