I have not ridden it, but I have it and it's a lot beefier than the 03 4-trac...thicker, heavier, etc. I would say the 06 limited would be super close...this board (zero-eight) is not the same. I can post pictures later on tonight if you'd like.

no problem. Just looking at it, one major difference is the beefiness, and the edge is also a little sharper. But there are some similarities that might make this board worth checking out for you. I will post shots of all three later this evening and you can be the judge.

here are a bunch of pics for you (sorry for the delay)...

What I tried to capture was the rail and edge shape, the thickness between the three boards (number of plys) through the kicktails, and I also included really crappy concave pics. YOu cannot see much through the plastic.

As far as weight is concerned, the 08 reed is by far the heaviest, but it's also thicker and beefier. The 06 LE reed is next, and is much closer in weight to the lightest board of the three, which is the 03 4-trac.

The LE and 08 reed are a bit wider than than the 4-trac...

As far as rail and edge shape is concerned, they're all different. I feel like the rail is reasonably comparable in the angles (though on the nose and tail it's more vertical on the LFs than the Cassette). With regards to the edge, the cassette is round all the way through. The 06 LE has the most pronounced variable edge, and the middle section of the edge is also the most round of all three boards. You can really tell the difference between the center and the sharper ends (again, it's all in the pics). The 08 is supposed to have a variable edge, but it's really subtle and over all, the edge is the sharpest (though there is still some forgiveness).

Anyway, I don't have any exact measurements, like nose and waist width, rocker height, etc. And if you want pics of the 07 reed, I could do that too. I just stuck with these three because those were the ones we talked about.

yeah, it's production. I received it last week as a warranty jobby. I was kind of disappointed that it didn't have the dark stain, but it still looks pretty sick. I'm not really sure why it was changed up, but I'm happy to have it. now I'm waiting for the sst. Twisted Evil

BMR, it's so hard to say. I don't have a scale with me but I'd probably put it in the 8-9 lb range.

alexx, I've been doing so for a few years now...I probably started with those goofy sponges. My collection started out in a limited fashion, but it's branched out completely.

but ultimately I'm danny and aaron fans, so those are basically the LF boards I hoard. That and maybe a couple of others, like an 04 concave and the limited SST, but those are the primary decks I am after.

bigtwake, it was the one that came out in late 07--it has the black top deck and the black and white stripes on the bottom. It's the first 42 that came out--08 will have silas' 40.5 and and reed's 42.

yes, there are still 4tracs in the plastic.... Laughing
