Painting my skate

Hey I was too lazy for searchin on this but I dont remember a lot of these threads comin up... But anyways I sanded my skate down today, its a 2004 Hyperlite Scape 112, I know laugh at me I dont care! I needed a cheap board to see if I liked skatin and to learn on. But now I want to put my own personal flair to it. Im thinkin put a coat of primer, then paint it say white in the middle, sand it and repaint it,let the white dry and then put cardboard taped over that, by taped I mean all the way around the skate, so that now I can paint black on the entire skate, let it dry and then lightly sand the black and repaint it black. now the black has dried I will remove the carboard and have a black and white skate. Then I want to clearcoat it, can I get the in a can? If so who makes it? So is my plan going to give me a good finished product? Or will it mess up? Here is what I want it like in the end so you can get an idea.

the strip would be like almost exactly in the middle though

they make a clear coat in a spray can called varithane, I got it at home depot that works pretty good, but I would try to find a paint, and primer that isn't water based, also if you wanted to paint the top you could use this stuff my friend got off the net, its canned dye for restoring car upholstry it worked pretty good on the foam on his kampus

Ok Im gettin the paint today and I changed my mind on paint scheme, its the same as the picture above but reverse colors so that I can see it better in the water. But I have a question, on the EVA foam there is that H thing in the center and I want to tape off the lower part if you know what I mean, and then spray the lines of the H black, so that I end up with grey centers and a black outline. I have some pics of the sanding. Is it sanded enough, I roughed it up with sand paper for primer to stick, and all the graphics were sanded off using a palm sander.

I like to watch the TV show trading spaces to get some good ideas. Maybe you could get some cool decorating ideas from that show. Laughing

Grouch, hahaha I hate that one they do on discovery kids with the little kids doin rooms and crap,my little brother always stops on discovery kids because he thinks monster garage is going to be on and it isnt even on that station... But ya grouch I may have to look into that... Laughing

JankyZep, how is that gay? Like there is this girl with Tig O' Bitties that was on our boat and it was like late march this year and I just in from my set and got him wet and the girl was using the heater and a blanket and he wrapped up in there tight with her and got the cuddle on... hahaha

JankyZep, actually it was a 25 year old chick, shouldn't have called her a girl cuz that sounds a little young. Ya she is a major hottie, I wouldn't say a 5 year old chick had a rack either man. Thats gross.

BUT ON THE TOPIC-- I have the wakeskate primered and have sprayed my 1st coat of black for the stripe, I will put 2 more coat coats of black on, then I will tape the black I want to use off. Then Im going to re-primer the skate and once that is dry I will apply 3 coats of white to it, and after the third and final coat is on, 2-3 coats of clear coating. Is that too much clear coat? Or do I need more, or is that just right?
