Just a question to anyone that knows alot about jetskis... Will it hurt the ski if i leave it on a buoy (in the water) for weeks at a time? I just really dont wanna put up 2 grand for a skilift or one of those flotation pad things. But i dont wanna put up a 3 grand repair bill if the ski breaks.
05' aquatrax f-12x if that makes a difference. _________________ Grrr... |

| id get a dry dock if i were you, im not sure if it would damange the ski leaving it in the water, but depending on what kind of water u are on, fresh, youll have algea and stuff growin on the bottom and salt, you might have to deal with some serious caraosion. best bet would be to play safe and get a dry dock thing that u ride up onto. If u find a used one they can be cheaper, i got 2 for 500 bux. |

The problem is bringing it in and out of the water, because i cant drive, and nobody has a trailer hitch these days. I think im gunna hit up craigslist and check for some used ones. Thanks _________________ Grrr... |

Do you have lakeshore? If you do, just go buy some treated lumber and build a simple ramp with bunks that run up each side and are covered in capet - then all you have to do is just run it up onto the shore so it sits up out of the water on the two bunks when you're done. You'll then just have to push if off when you want to ride, but that is the cheapest way to get it out of the water without having to buy a lift or trailer. _________________ www.NeustonBoards.com

my neighbors who live on the water said I could keep my ski there as long as I want, which is good for me because I can't drive either. But I'm going to take it out either once a week or once every two weeks to clean/flush out. _________________ http://www.flickr.com/photos/nizzate/ |

Its fresh water, and a friend said i could use their property, sounds like lousy hero has the same deal going for him. Im not sure how they would feel about the ghetto rig you have in mind sin (if it will look trashy its prolly not gunna happen) ... even tho that would probably be ideal. Ill ask about it, cuz i didnt find anything on craigslist. _________________ Grrr... |

That's what I've been saying crack! It won't look like crap if you put some moderate time into it and no more than $30. DIY FTW _________________ www.NeustonBoards.com

Just buy that white/cream colored carpet and get some dark green dye - throw it in a trash can with some water, mix, and you got some grass colored carpet. _________________ www.NeustonBoards.com

All it is is a little ramp (maybe takes up a total of four feet). I bet if you put your sad face on and explain to them that you're a poor kid who's just trying to make it, and that lifts are way to expensive (maybe start crying and start talking about how life is all hard and crap).
Otherwise, if they don't want it up on the beach, just build that bad boy in the water - problem solved. _________________ www.NeustonBoards.com

J.BLAZE, perhaps you should adjust your pinky 7/32s of an inch and take off caps lock. hahah, yea, i bet we would all like to run around asking girls if they have trailer hitches..... but i think im gunna try Sinkoumn's idea... and if the owners dont like it, then ill probably strap it on a buoy... Does anyone know if it will hurt the ski to have it on a buoy? that was my initial question _________________ Grrr... |
