Rxp 215 ftw!!! Its governed at 70... so at a little over half throttle the thing hits 70 and wont move any more. I havent had any trouble with my supercharger and my ski is an 04.
Actually, I really prefer my 03 GTX the best. Its got the longer hull, and the 135 hp engine is a MUCH smoother pull. Its also really good on gas. 5 gallons of petrol would last an entire week of riding, about 2 hours every night. If I had to get another one, I would get another GTX. |

WAVERUNNERS ARE TYPICALLY MORE RELIABLE THAT SEADOOS. I HAVE A 2003 FX CRUISER THAT I SKATE BEHIND. MOST OLDER PEOPLE I KNOW ARE DIE HARD YAMAHA FANS. SEADOOS ARE FASTER BUT YOU CAN'T GO ANYWHERE WHEN YOUR SKI IS IN THE SHOP. YAMAHA VX SHOULD BE FINE FOR WHAT YOU WANT TO DO. |

YAMAHA IS TYPICALLY MORE RELIABLE THAN SEADOO. SEADOO IS FASTER BUT IF YOU DON'T MIND ONLY GOING 60 MPH THAN WAVERUNNER VX SHOULD BE PERFECT. I HAVE A 2003 YAMAHA FX AND I WOULDN'T TRADE IT FOR A TURBO IT FOR A TURBO CHARGED SEADOO. |

From what I've seen/heard Sea Doo's aren't as reliable as Yamaha's. But according to the Action dealership(Carry both Yamaha and Sea doo) they claim that they are about equal, if anything the Sea Doos that are supercharger just require more maintenance only because theres more that has the possibility to go wrong, but they said the non supercharged models are about as reliable as Yamaha's. I just perfer Yamaha's because I've had nothing wrong with mine yet(12 years old). I'm just buying the Vx Deluxe because it has more horsepower, but as we were talking to the salesman they had the Sea Doo Wake on the showroom floor and I about spluged in my pants.....It's sexy no doubt. But now I'm in a situation about choosing the 155 GTX or VX Deluxe for the same price and warranty, time to hit the search button. _________________ http://www.flickr.com/photos/nizzate/ |

But they aren't the best for shredding.....I heard they have a REALLY fast idle speed, which makes hard for docking and when you grab the rope it yanks you. _________________ http://www.flickr.com/photos/nizzate/ |

so I just bought (this last winter) an 1996 yamaha wave venture 700... I got a good deal, and I was wondering if it will be enough to pull me out of the water and ride. I weigh about 180. _________________ forever shreddin' |

kornhouse, alright well 1. this thread has nothing to do with that and 2. stop bitching about it and 3. grant is normal to me so i have no reason to hate him, and he has two 08 wake editions _________________ 941 |

i know this is kinda late
these are some reasons why boats are better than jetskis
multi use
use less gas
reliable
hold more people
cost less
dont have to wear a pfd

i havent read the whole thread, maybe i will in my down time, BUT these ski's arent pushing the 70+mph mark without being modded. yeah, sure they say 65, 70, 75...but thats INDICATED not your actual speed. ive heard they can be off by 5-7mph near top end.
MattG, im starting to think my nautique is almost as efficient as my wake edition...at least lately.
the beauty of the jet ski is that with a 15gal tank, it's "only" $60 to fill at $5/gal. _________________ .:Wake UP Films:.
