K, so I'm probably getting a PWC soon. So which one is the best wakeskate wise. I'm thinking the Sea-Doo Wake (naturally), anyone ridden one? How is it? Any other ideas?

The wake's are freakin tanks. My friend has a non supercharged one and it isnt all that great on gas, the supercharged one would be worse. Sea doo isnt really known for their great reliability either lol...id say yamaha vx 110 deluxe, you can literally beat the fiznackling shizzle out of it and it will be fine. My friend went 120 miles and still had fuel in the tank _________________ 941 |

the non supercharged ones were tanks, but my new one is a different story, if you call 72 mph with me and someone else on it a tank, then there is no pleasing you. i havent had a seadoo newer than an 05 break down yet, they have all ran perfect.
the only way you can know what you want is to go to a dealership and demo the skis that you are thinking about getting. then base your decision off that _________________

EJazzle, I'm not sure if you know about the supercharger washer issue. Affecting all the supercharged skis from 04-07 the supercharger has these ceramic washers in it that prevent the engine from over-revving when the pump cavitates or you are jumping waves and hit the throttle in the air. Basically, the washers explode and tank into the engine, leaving pieces of washer all in the oil pumps and other stuff. It was a huge problem, 07's were dropping their washers at 2 hours! The engine needs to be removed and completely cleaned.
The sad part about it is the dealer has no idea how to fix it and just puts new washers in, which leads to more problems.
For 08', sea doo finally got off their lazy asses and they come with metal washers now. Sea doo has known about the problem since 04.
There is TONS of knowledge about the 4-tecs on www.4-tecperformance.com
Oh and EJazzle I can bet you my left nut that the rxt/wake hull with the 215 hp engine wont do 72. The "dream-o-meter" is basically always wrong. Get a GPS on there _________________ 941 |

Kichu182, Yamahas are known for their bulletproof reliability. And in my opinion you get much more for your money. With the wake, you just get the ballast system racks and a post for alot more money. And a little more power if that matters to you _________________ 941 |

Kichu182, Yeah. My friend just got two 08 wake editions and the racks are pretty flimsy lol they have fallen off a few times while we are riding, i just put the board in the footwells now _________________ 941 |

Kichu182, Well the wake is noticably bigger with the ballast on the sea doo. But in perspective, a jet ski is just a jet ski lol. I'm not going to give you any opinion...some people love sea doo and others hate them. I would suggest going down to both dealers and just trying them out. _________________ 941 |

That's a lie. I've never heard of this occurring. My buddy and I always go out on his sea doo jumping with the throttle pined and never have had a problem except the damn thing goes to fast, if thats a problem. We've not treated his sea doo lightly either. My buddy who owns the sea doo, his dad owns the sea doo dealership in our area and has not heard of this problem, ever.
The only problem that regularly occurs is rocks getting sucked into the sea doo's because people operate them in too shallow of water.
Us Canuks, only rock Sea Doo's and they work good for us, and hardly ever a problem. _________________ ~ www.integrity-wake.com ~ www.iwinchglobal.com ~ |

| Why do Canadians only have Sea-Doo's(I'm canadian, i was not aware of this). So what's the thing with reliability? Good or bad, im getting a mix here. And btw, is it possible to get a different throttle? I hate the thumb thing, much prefer the finger. |

Kichu182, Bombardier that makes Sea-Doo is a Canadian company. Alot of Canadians would much rather support a Canadian made product than another American made product. As result the service tends to be better when you care about the product you are selling. It is rare to see a Yamaha sea doo around here. I've grown up on Sea Doo's and there reliability as been unmatched (from what i've seen). It's rare that Sea Doo's just brake down, usually its an operators mistake. If they happen to just brake down, my buddies dad who owns a Sea Doo dealership, will go out himself or send his son and me to go pick it up so the problem can be fixed asap. _________________ ~ www.integrity-wake.com ~ www.iwinchglobal.com ~ |
