Check out some of the stuff we are working on:
We have a limited release Bamboo/composite core coming out (talk about POP) with a single piece urethane sidewall !!! imagine your skateboard wheel as the sidewall / tip /tail impact protection system... This will be sold with custom color sidewall when you order. (this is 50% Done still being dialed in then ride testing) Please forgive me if the custom color sidewall doesn't happen I'm not 100% certain we can do it yet.
For all the Hippies at heart... We have a GREEN deck 100% recyclable materials with (hemp) fibers substituting the fiberglass... with a green sidewall. (Save the planet, Right) (40% Done) |
Did i missed any more news about it? or nothing elese was spoken here?? |

BAMBOO COMING VERY SOON...
The hemp board won't hold up... that tech is not going to make a solid deck... the samples are weak at best... I am looking into other alternative fibers and other options to replace things... |

Thanks...
Every thing is recyclable except the fiberglass and epoxy... I was mostly looking to get away from the glass... There are some new soy based epoxys in the works, but won't be really usable for a few more years if they can hold up... |

I didn't mean to send that lest post, btw.
But, if i'm not mistaken, the whole concept of Erich Shmaltz making Integrity wakeskates is to imitate the ride of wooden wakeskates in as many ways possible, while still designing a board that can hold up extremely well against wear, friction, rails, etc. So in my opinion, i don't think an all wood deck is gonna happen.. |

Schmaltz, yeah those soy based epoxys look great but I know what you mean. I just watched a show on Discovery or something like that and they went to a skate factory that was using them but I don't think those boards really get that much abuse since they were zip-zinger/ cruiser style boards. Definately no where near the impact abuse wakeskates have to handle. Will be interesting in the future though. |

Nice... Yeah the soy stuff is big in the auto industry, but not strength wise for our application.
Silk is the shizzle... it could sub for fiberglass at a heavy cost to do... Stronger then steel... I looked into trying it... but i don't think the hassle would make the ends justify the means.
I have done a ton with kiln dried maple and birch and low viscosity resins (rock adhesive) at Taylor Dykema skate MFG... Mutiny had a solid wood skate line with very low to no warping and no varnish/coated sidewalls. At one point i had a skate submerged in a pool for a month straight with no water soaking in...
Wood is good... i personally feel composite or wood combo composite... kills the solid wood decks. Composites have more snap and energy built into it... quite simply wood and water don't mix well... in 5 years Integ has had 1 warranty issue and almost no second quality decks built... With wood... each piece of veneer is different and you get major problems with warping and 2nd quality decks ='s $ loss and warranty issues.
With composites i can make a weighting system and have a 100% water proof deck...
where 10 or more wood deck would have failed 1 integ takes it's place. |
