|
|
I am currently completing a degree in product design and am looking at developing a new griptape/foam for wakeskates.
I have been wakeboarding for sometime and wakeskate on and off. I'm looking for any feedback on the current griptape/foams on the market and any suggestions to improve upon them.
Pro/cons, previous experiences or suggestions on current technologies would be very helpful in developing a better product.
thanks for your time and I looking forward to hearing from everyone. |

If you can come up with something as good as grip tape....but you can spray it from a can...that would be something _________________ Never winch in shallow water.... |

keep it simple..., good to here new designers pushing wakeskate, i'm a product designer sudent too, and help you in this project would be great, if it's for the benefit of the sport..... actualy, i'm compleeting my degree, studing renewable core materials, like natural fiber and resins to apply on wakeskates construction. Maybe my studies can help you on something, hope to be able to help you.
Well, for now, what i can say about your griptape/foam work, is that you should study your public a lot, and i consider that almost all of the wakeskate riders are kind of conservative, always prioizing skate feel, and defnetly griptape is the true skate feel. So my advise is to inovate keeping the wakeskate essence in mind.
It would be good asking pros an cons about griptape and foam...
Everybody loves griptape, but have a lot to complain about!
Sorry for my bad english, good luck! |

apple103, there's already something like that. i used it to add some grip to my windsurfboard. that has been some 10+ years ago already but there should be some stuff like that out there.
like this maybe: www.safetecvision.co.uk/product.asp?code=SPRAYG |

foam puts more of the artificial between u and your skate. Foam is for the birds.
grip is great, it seems in water though....grip wears through faster. I'd like to see some grip that lasts. Good luck with your project. _________________ dbanana wrote:

I have the perfect idea... oh wait, if I tell you, you might make it work, patent it and profit on it... That wouldn't help me out. You're on your own on this one... _________________ forever shreddin' |

Hmmm... Perfect the way it is?, don't know how you could improve it?
How about so the shizzle like never wears out, or ever comes off. That would be a positive improvement.
What about a grip tape that was foam? like the feel and grip of foam but as thin as grip tape, and of course as strong. _________________ http://www.zeitgeistmovie.com/ |

| keep it simple..., i find irony in the fact that your name is keep it simple yet you want to complicate one of the most basic aspects of board design. |
