ok so i took about 5 attempts at the running off the dock and putting the board under me and landing and riding away business heres how it would unfold:
1. with rope in one hand board in other, get line taught and have boat go and run
2. jump and put board under feet
3.land on board
4. have arm ripped from socket....
how do i do this so that when i land i dont get yanked so hard? _________________ JMU |

| i have never attempted them, but i am guessing the boat should have more speed by then. maybe try the boat starting with some slack in the rope and then when u start running, u will be going faster. |

| when the line is about taught the driver should start to take off so he is almost on a plane and when you land try cutting away from the boat. that always helps me. |

| Yeah, i havent done them on a boat, but i can do it on a cable. Dont try to make it like a full speed running start. Do about three good steps then make the jump. I imagine the boat has to be going a pretty good speed (a cable is running full speed all the time obviously). I dont know if that helped at all. |

| the faster the smoother, you should be on the dock when the rope is tight, so i would think thats when you would get yanked. almost the whole trick is dependent on the driver, so thats why the cable makes it a lot easier. try having the board on teh water and jumping on to it (from a pretty low surface) and this way you can use two arms to hold on once you jump on. |

I tried this like 300 times last summer and finally got it. The main thing is you need a good boat or jet ski driver. What happens is if they are going just a little bit too slow, your board sinks too much in the water when you land on it and you stick to the water but your arm keeps going with the rope.
But if the driver goes too fast, you fly off the dock and when you look back at how far away you are, its like 30 feet and you have a long swim back to the dock.
But if your driver has patients, maybe promise him just as many tries at it as you, then you can find that happy medium... |

Here is my advice:
1. Don't run, take only a few steps before you jump off of the dock.
2. Put the board under your feet, don't throw it down there.
3. When you after you let go of the board, put your hand back on the handle so that you are holding on with both hands.
4. Hold on tight and lean back a bit. |

| make sure u are running with the rope tite throughout the whole pull u wanna run equal to the speed of the boats acceleration so the rope is not loose when u land. |

| well maybe you should work out that arm cause if its getting pulled out on a dock start your gonna have hell doing harder stuff. or you could build a pool instead and ollie out of the dock, now thats a better idea. focus on better stuff. |

| you just have to use your own judgement with speed. try and acceralte your speed with the same speed as the boat. |

I can't do them, nor have I tried. But my suggestion would be is to learn them on a skateboard and learn them smooth, on a skateboard they are usually called bomb drops though. _________________ Llamas are better then Alpacas

Well as I was saying I can't do so I can't help you. My advice was more aimed at people learning to land on the board. _________________ Llamas are better then Alpacas
