i removed the internal govenor on my 6.5 hp briggs! I fired the winch up for the first time today and it wont idle unless i play with the choke.
anyone have this problem before???

i have the same motor. i havent taken the govenor off, but it pulls me really slow, probably about 15mph, after you took it off was it a lot faster?

It's fixed!! EJazzle, We still have snow on the ground and the lakes are still frozen, but it really lets the motor rev up more.

EJazzle, I dont know how slow it runs, because saturday was the first time i fired the whinch up. I'm still putting it together/waiting on rope!!
But the motor seems to be making lts of power!
