They did it. Not sure if it's been posted but they're using an electronic throttle and allowing the driver to set the maximum RPM. It's called "cruise assist"

"Yamaha’s exclusive Cruise Assist is the industry’s first system that allows the driver to set and hold a particular speed while maintaining a comfortable riding position with the throttle. Once the speed is set, the driver can increase or decrease the speed through the simple push of a button. When the throttle is disengaged the system shuts off."

i hope that they come out with the cruise assist system for other yamaha skis so i can get it on mine that would make driving and riding behind my ski so much nicer.

ollieshuvitz, twas posted a while ago but i dont think it was as detailed. this is a sick idea tho for sure.

i used to have a yamaha, i liked how we never had to get it fixed, and i think thats going to happen soon with my seadoo cuz yamaha is definitly a better engine, but i dont like the look of them anymore, and they make them way too skinny IMO, when a rider cut out for a rail or something i'd have to lean to the other side of the ski.

seadoo really needs to get on their game face because this speed control would be the shlt on the wake edition Cool

ollieshuvitz, dude thats a tough call. you already got such a sick setup.

i think it might be better to go with a whaler so that your uncle can take his midgets out behind that instead of the wake edition.
