Yes it was very cold, but with a winch and some sun it was pretty do-able.

Nope
It was one of the first sunny days of the new year so we just had to go out and so did everyone else in our home town. Air temp was round the 10 degrees Celcius which is like 50F, and the water temp was closer to 37 degrees Fahrenheit

It's a Full Pull winch made by a ducth guy going by the name of Martijn he posts on www.winchskating.com
