I will be doing a write up on those shoes, just to talk about the new materials DVS is experimenting with. those shoes are actually really cool...i'll have to check, but I think the lining is bit more than lycra--isn't that just spandex? This stuff is thicker, almost like a neoprene material. They used the same thing for the lining of the Gav CT Narla shoe.
anyway, it'd be nice to see some of those materials make their way to a shoe for the public at large...they're using some cool stuff that will keep the shoe durable where you need it, yet it will still drain and dry nicely.
oh, wait...AND you'll look fresh!

no, that's the team edition shoe, but the team riders are the guinea pigs who test out the new materials and such. I'm just saying that it would be cool to see some of those features make it to a shoe for the public, because these shoes are more than just a mesh skate shoe.
also, I did verify that the inner liner is neoprene.

| electricsnow, neoprene really? the pair i tried on seemed like lycra. it felt like the lycra uv shirt material. buteither way im stoked that they are looking into better inside materials. when winching and walking the rope back out and stuff my feet get tore up in my shoes. and also those shoes had no mesh. maybe i tried on one of the first samples. but they looked the exact same.

notsobueno, I was thinking 2010 so then I could title it as one of those "from the archives" style of stories.
you are right mitch, those shoes didn't have any mesh at all. Replacing the mesh was some other material...I did not get a name, but it's totally exotic!! they have some bright orange nylon for styling and function...it's just a sick looking shoe that maintains a skate aesthetic (and that vulcanized outsole that's so hot right now!!) while advancing a functional wakeskate sensibility. That's why I hope that some how, some day they can get those features into a shoe that will have some sort of all around interest/function. I don't think they can totally make a wakeskate specific shoe JUST for a wakeskating market. They try to make a shoe that will be functional/relevant in both markets so there aren't any limitations and such.
