Well I wasn't sure if that would be enough. My spring suit is 2mm and I would die in the water with it. I want to be able to ride all year. I'm guessing the nights here are usually 30s. |

Shoulds work out excellent.
I have the same suit and loved it in the fall. I just dont think I'll start riding again til Feb. My toes froze last time so I will def. be picking up some booties.
Are gloves necessary? |

I actually went in a different direction with my recent glove purchase than the typical 3mm neoprene gloves. A few of my customers also like to scuba dive, and they suggested that I look into some 1mm diving gloves. So I picked up a pair of 1mm gloves w/ neo on the back of the hand, and thin suede on the front. They don't provide warmth, but they do keep the wind chill off my hands when I was up, and I'm pretty certain that that is what makes your hands cold during the chilly months. They are also thin enough that your hands don't get tired from holding onto the handle. So yeah, I tested them out in the <50 degree Delta waters and they worked great. I totally forgot about the fact that I was wearing gloves. The only downfall to them is that they didn't retain heat as the 3mm neoprene gloves will, and cold water flushed through them each time I fell, but a 1mm glove isn't designed retain heat. So if you're looking to just keep the wind chill off your hands then I'd suggest looking into them. For reference, the air was 50s and clear/sunny.
