So yeah, last year was a good one. Won't bore anyone with the details, but since I shot a bit more than 7500 photos I thought that I'd post a few of them up for everyone to check out.

So we're doin the winch thing in the backyard and the dude next door comes out and thinks we're crazy. The water is much, much too dirty to be playing in. It couldn't possibly be warm, either. Meh...the water's fine.

Chris O...

Mitch has bad eyes, but he knows damn well that when you have a spot in California where you can ride all night, you damn well better ride all night! I'm pretty sure we had some construction lights up somewhere so the riders could see. I think.

Josh Rossi from above.

Chris O winching at Manresa State Beach

Took these while up at my friend's houseboat at Lake Shasta. I lucked out with the night shots because there was a full moon out each time I was up there...
3:30am right as everyone was passing out.

self portrait when we arrived at 2am. Standing absolutely still for 30 seconds is tough.

The rest of the parking lot. Suburban in the upper left, the dag was wearing some glow sticks so we could see her. That's where the smeary yellow and magenta colors are coming from in the bottom. Last year this whole "parking lot" was under water. Bring on winter.

Someone whipping back into the houseboats the long way after their set.

Having some fun with burning wood. Lindsy spelled my name right, but not hers. "Linbsy." Semi-honest, fully-drunken mistake.

Believe it or not, that was a sunset, not a fire. And then, believe it or not, it poured for about 10 mins and then cleared up. Weird, huh Richard? Oh, you can probably put my flash down. I'm not really using it at the moment. Thanks.

Bad timing.

Good timing.

DPC films' cable cam in action...

Rollins Reservoir was butter. We totally got lucky, too, because the previous day was completely overcast and rainy. I was picking grapes at my friend's vineyard harvest and cruising through the hills on my longboard. Then I woke up the next day to clear skies and cruised on out to join Mitch and Chad for a nice quiet day on the water.

Friends, wakeskates, drinks, camera gear...

xwakemitchx (8:55:08 PM): i just look so bad ass <-- agreed.

And hello there, Austin Watts.

Some December Delta riding

Sorry, Mitch.

Yes, I know. But it's Mitch's fault for sticking his hand way up in the air, ok?

Lookin forward to 2008!

awesome shots dude
Do you remember how your camera was set up on the first Shasta shot with the houseboat and stars? I'm impressed you got the sky so clear without over exposing the lights on the boat. Did you use HDR techniques? thanks

nice multi exposure, well nice everything. Love the remote flash work. Full moon shots are always fun. Thats sick that you got the stars in there too. Around here all I usually get are city lights. What set up are you using? Canon mark II?

Great shots! All of them belong in a glossy magazine and even displayed up on a wall.

the stars in that night shot are unreal, seriously, the brightest i recall.

Russian in the balling surf, that pic is richter. the burning wood namesake should be your personalized licsence plate Cool oh yeah...lake shasta=sexy biitch.

sim- 30 seconds @ f4 was the exposure. There was a TON of light coming off the moon...pretty much the brightest full moon I've ever seen in my life. You could seriously walk around without a flashlight. The light coming off the houseboat wasn't actually all that bright, so there was really only that one light at the front of the houseboat that got all blown out.

You really have to get 100+ miles away from the city lights in order to do any good night photography. Otherwise you'll get this ugly orangy glow at the horizon. Also, the night shots that I posted were taken when the moon was low in the sky. The principle is the same as shooting during the day in the sense that when the sun/moon is low in the sky, the opposite horizon will have a soft orange/blue glow.

I'm using a Canon 1D Mark IIn, and all the shots are one exposure. None are HDR or multiple exposures. All the night shots are around 30 seconds of exposure at around f2.8, with the exception of the dirt parking lot photo which was a 1 min exposure.

Erich- Shots from Reno were from last summer...but since they were published in 2008 I guess I could have posted them? I just decided to leave out all my published stuff since it's been seen before. The shots can be found in Alliance Wakeskate 3.1 if anyone is curious what I'm talking about. The shot on the Contents page from issue 3.3 is mine, as is the shot of Chris O in the Snaps section. If things are slow today maybe I'll just link them here...

This boat show tent is frickin COLD! Shocked And it rained in Tahoe. And I should be at Mavericks...utter crap I say!
