it was based of an original design/idea for a portable miniature ski lift, very similar concept as the winches we ride today for wakeskating, but it was on a loop, so you could ski down a small hill and ride it back up.

Even though Columbus didn't "discover" America (insert chappele joke here)......

....I know that Tony and Thomas hooked up and started something serious.

Those Euro cable parks have been around for many moons. I know there is a pic somewhere online of a little orange box at the end of a pool with an extension cord coming out of it. Swedish maybe. People waterskiing with it. Would be nice to know the lineage, but my view of history goes to Tony. I bet he was the first in this land to put a gas motor with a sturdy frame & spool. He was working on a backpack winch, I wonder how its going..... Shocked

...give it up for winchin!!! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Also watch the passanger get out of the car. He's wearing ski boots, tight pants, and a jean jacket.

Soulprogression, I don't think thomas or Tony knew of that portable ski lift, but damn, its very very similar. I'd def give them credit for the first winch, and thomas/tony credit for the first wakesports winch. hell, someone might have done something similar before the snow guys.. who knows.

I want someone to create a mini cable park with something like those guys did for the portable ski lift.

This dude I met while ocean winching wanted to create something like the portable ski lift for surfing.. so that surfers wouldnt have to waste energy on paddling out... but IMO (and probably almost every other surfer) that goes against what surfing is all about... and it would get people who arent experienced into some deep shizzle.

I just saw who invented the first winch, and remembered seeing some video and reading about that mini ski lift. I surf and I'd be 100% for a surf style ski lift, I thought about how it would work many times, but I'm lazy, it would probably double maybe triple wave count, but you'd need one at every break, kinda pointless.
