thanks for the kind words everyone, I'm very pleased with the work so far and look forward to my next 8-10 hours in the chair. The "ghost ship" will be all greywash(hence the lack of really dark lines and black ink) and the skies above will be stormy and dark. the lower portion will be bright and colorful. after we finish what is started above he(Dan Martin at Scorpion Studios) is going to add a huge octopus above my beltline, similar to those in old sailor folklor. The skull in the moon is for my boy Josh(RIP bro!!!) I'll post more pics after the next session next friday.

jetcycles, Do you ride with Houston Jackson out on Conroe? I met a guy out on his boat with a ship on his side and like one side is sunny and the other is storming. That you?
This is going on my left foot after Christmas(Money) and I have a full side piece drawn out.

Thanks guys, I drew it out myself. I'm drawing out my side piece as well. I'm stoked.

Hunter B., you should probably leave the drawing to the pro's. with all due respect that drawing is pretty bad. if you want a good tattoo then bring your ideas to the artist and let him do the rest.

Who's to say what is a professional art and what is not? That totally defeats the meaning of art. Where is the creativity and self-expression if someone else is changing your designs? I brought my drawing to my artist and let him take it for a day. He totally changed the feel of the tattoo and I hated it. I told him to stencil my exact drawing on my arm and I love it. It's his body and his art and that's the best feeling about it. Letting the artist re-draw it is basically like picking a tat off the wall. It's different if you go to an tattoo artist and give him a list of ideas and let him draw it up, but if you see a piece of artwork that you love, in your eyes, then it shouldn't matter what other people think about it.

I rode a little with Houston last year, mostly when he was riding sportbikes with us or filming our stunt sessions. I haven't talked to him in a few months, and i didn't have this piece on my side last year. Hopefully we'll run across each other sometime, there aren't too many wakeskaters on lake conroe. If you have a myspace, send me a pm with the address and ill add you, i send session invites all year long, and you're more than welcome to come ride with us.

TAD, then go somewhere else. there are a million tattooers out there and its up to you to find someone who can make you happy. a lot of times when tattooers change things in drawings that people bring to them its because what works on paper does not always work on skin. they also dont wanna put their name on a piece of crap tattoo that lil jonny drew up cause he thinks hes the next ed hardy.
