I'm thinking Pre-orders will go up like 10AM PST and cut off once we reach 30 decks... not sure how fast or slow that will be. It will be located in our store on our website. I will give the heads up 2-3 days in advance.
I do have to warn people our pricing will go up on the pro models after this. Main reason being Epoxy and Fiberglass prices have gone up substantially since 2004 ... we haven't changed our pricing in 4 years except lowering our team deck down to $245.00. even when our old manufacturer raised his prices 10% each year.
Don't blame me... Blame OPEC... and the war in IRAQ. I just received another notice from my Epoxy supplier stating price increases last week. Inflation is happening everywhere especially where petroleum distillates are concerned.
In addition the Skate type 91A Urethane we are using for the sidewalls is spendy stuff, but justifiable sick...
We spent 15 minutes bashing the sidewall with a number of hard objects which showed hardly any damsge... This years stuff is going to be a tank.
66oz. of glass total + impact absorbing 91A side walls + Centra-Fuse core + urethane core bushing + re-curved core + Dura Surf= some serious tech in this product...
Beyond anything to date and on par with top of the food chain snowboards... We used the highest quality materials to do all this... I'm finally able to build the type of boards I have been dreaming about.
At the same time I understand every ones position on keeping trying to keep cost down. In actuality if I made a wakeboard this way it would seriously up the ante and would retail between $ 850-950.00 ... Maybe more...
I guarantee all the new bells and whistles will set us further apart and are NOT gimmicks, but actual performance enhancing features... The only reason why I can do this and not go out of business... is because I have no employees and I don't pay myself... and we don't advertise very often.
All this translates into saving the customer money while he buys the Ferrari of wakeskates at the Saturn price. It's my sacrafice to the cause... but it can't stay that way... I need to eat... lol
I hope most of you can understand this and appreciated the level of product design and quality materials compared to the pricing. Where ever it ends up... it will still be under what a larger company would have to charge for the same product...
One of the reasons why I'm so open about showing the core and tech of our product is so people can understand the time and effort to produce this... myself knowing the bigger companies won't bother trying to copy this cause it doesn't look good on paper and won't fit in their margins. In addition I'm proud of it... and happy to let riders experience the process and admire the craftsmanship knowing they have invested in an art piece with a high resale value... this isn't mass produced it's hand polished by myself every step... from concept, to art, to production, to shipping... not someone far removed from the sport in Dubai or China...
I'm just trying to let everyone know what is involved and why prices will go up 8-16 % after this first production run. It's because my cost have gone up 20% or more.
I apologize for the price increase and at the same time hope you understand the tech and materials well enough offsets the price so it's still much more for less...
It just make more sense for us to build a smaller amount of a better product then a larger amount of a lesser product.
Much Respect |

man, I just expected an increase in price because of the new technology and not just because of inflation. you had said awhile back that your wood core production style was expensive. Anyway, I just thought of it the same way when prices went up from the introduction of concaves to 4-trac/PBT based skates or bi-levels. If you want the high end shizzle, you have to pay to play...truly, I don't think there's anything to apologize for but that's just me.
Anyway, it should all be interesting and i will keep an eye out for a board I like this spring. Good luck! _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |

is the limited edition the only one going to be available as a 41? Any of the pro boards going to be 41 or at least close to it? Im really asking if any of the new boards with the new technology are going to be available in 41 besides the limited? _________________ Some people make birdhouses, some people knit sweaters. | Lemons, I'm getting your new pro model. I don't care if Erich charges $500, paints it pink, and puts effing rainbows on the thing. You guys are so far ahead of the curve. |
