Iv only really had my board for about a month and a bit and only been wakeskating for like nearly 2 but i was wondering if i could get some help. I have landed on a 3 shuv (but it was really crappy and didnt get off the surface really) but when i try pop them up i catch them with my legs too close together (have a look at the first 2 scenes in the vid). Also i have been trying some kickies (i know the vid is a bit hard to see) and i seem to be leaning to far to the right or something, anyone go any ideas for me. I put that impossible attempt (i only did it for a laugh) to show u how i usually start off my kickflip attempts, then i kick to the side.

Any help would really be appreciated thanks guys |

Push the handle down on your 3 shuv landing and keep your shoulders on the same line as your board.
Can't kickflip that well so i'll leave that one to some one else. |

I cant kickflip either but it looks like your foot is to close to the nose. Try keeping you front foot closer to the middle of the board. It works on the tramp like that for me.
But what do i know I cant even do the damn trick... _________________ http://www.wakeskateclips.com/

2 months? your skipping the basics.
I've seen this alot lately...kids just going out and trying to hit kickflips and 3 shuvs before they even get comfortable on the board. I'm not saying you arent comfortable but after 2 months i think i was still trying to get my shuvs and lip tricks on lock. Maybe i progressed alittle slower than most but you cant rush into progression. thats just my 2 cents.
edit* i really dont mean to be a c0ck...but stop giving advice if you arent sure how to do the trick. |

I'm with ScottyB on this one. Especially on the kickflip. If you start trying 3 shuvs and kickflips now you're just going to form bad habits and have a REALLY hard time learning them later. I started kickflips before I could ollie more than 6 inches and now I still can't land them. That is, however, assuming you don't have the basics. I have you have shuvs/180s/lips/ollies dialed you should be fine. _________________ I like to choke when my team needs me the most, no Romo. |

I can ollie large (sometime when im not being an idiot like usual ), i know how to frontside 180 (i just hate landing it switch), i can shuv, but yeah i should probably try to get them more consistant before i try progress further, i only really try for kickies like for a bit of the day. But i still wanna try them, cause i really like landing them when floor boarding, nicest looking trick ever |

Slapdown, dude i doubt it, i look like a fiznackling wounded duck when i try them. I always jump away from the board and never kick strait down its always a different kick i come the closest i/o. This weekend we will have a progression session on my skis. take em both out and we can both work on kickflips. |

kickflips = practice. skateboarding and tramp both help a lot
Slapdown, i used to think skateboarding hurt my wakeskating because i always wanted to slide my foot and flick it near the nose but i think skateboard just teaches you so much foot control. the advanced dexterity in your feet beat out the skateboarding muscle memory. i guess its a lot like what nick t. was saying in the thread on wakeboarding.com. |
