Anyone ever tried any on a surfboard? I like how the contest rules say you cant use winches or wakeskates Laughing It seems like a wakeskater would be able to get one down in a wave on a surfboard pretty easily, in comparison to a surfer who doesnt wakeskate

9. You must be riding a surfboard with at least one fin. No boogie boards, wakeboards, wakeskates, skimboards, kiteboards, trays etc.

THEY SAID WAKESKATES...people know what wakeskating is lol

kickflip on a surfboard...why are people constantly trying to mesh two sports together....OK first person to hit a homerun wake to wake ill give 10,000$
No straps and its only legit if you have fins

Smash Smash

The birth of most boardsports, minus surfing, is a melding of one with another. Surfing is pretty much the original and skaters were later inspired by surfing (though of course, surfing is now taking some inspiration through grabs and what not). I have an ad for the snurfer and it says "Snurfing is skiing, skateboarding and surfing rolled into one outrageous wintertime sport!!" Some of the earliest wakeboards were essentially small surfboards, and the style reflected that inspiration through and through. Later, the skurfer would twist the inspiration a bit, since it "takes the best aspects of surfing and waterskiing." But you still had riders that worked really hard to bring the snow and skate aspects into it as well, which kind of makes it all the more interesting.

I've thought about this and I think it would be interesting to write about if it was made relevant. On here though, it seems like the main language people speak always relates to crossover references. Somehow something can't be viewed on its own and some other outside example is brought in for...legitimacy or something. It's like that's the only way people get it.

Anyway, I don't follow surfing too much but the kickflip off thing seems interesting. I like how it has to be above the lip...
