dankskate, Haven't seen you in a while
It was a little unexpected on their side, but I think it ended up ok.
I'd also like to add that I didn't mean to take anything away from Matt Hooker, he's a good wakeskater. _________________ √ |

"And - once again - glasses raised to the drivers who have to pull these kids around all day falling 57 times, swimming for the board in most cases.... its just much more of a hassle than turning around and picking up a wakeboarder."

yea seriously, there was alot of stupid shiit up there
wakeskating is inconsistent, there is no room for arguement?
they need to watch nick, reed hansen, brian grubb(i dont really like his riding but it's definately consistent), and alot more those are just a few examples

Brett Leadley, I dont agree with that statement either.
In my younger days I too was a strapper. I was decent and took hard slams like most strappers do. And taking a hard slam usually means coming out of your binders. Which means un lacing the bindings, puting em on, cinching em down and get everything else organized. Or in my case, undoing the velcro, struggling to get my feet in a tight a$$ overlay and have my feet hurt because they were unsupported.
God I'm glad I switched. _________________ If you don't like my fire then don't come around. Cuz I'm gonna burn one down.

Sarcasm.
I did what I could to defend wakeskating and I think I got the message across and maybe got a few respect points in the process _________________ √ |

The Captain, you have my utmost respect for keeping your cool and taking your time to delve into that thread so deeply. You are an ambassador for wakeskating. No question about it.
Thank you. _________________ The above are opinions of NotSoBueno, based on NotSoBueno's life experiences and are not reflective of the opinions of wakeskating.com, posters on wakeskating.com, or readers of threads on wakeskating.com. |

sorry but i really dont give a rat's ass about what the majority of those people think. they are stuck in their ways about wakeboarding and are probably at the jaded age where they don't want to change their ways ever. wakeskating is not going to grow through converting wakeboarders that praise rusty malinoski all day long. it's going to come to the newbies in the sport: the people that are just getting into wakeboarding (or wakeskating: becuase it's being represented just as equal as wakebaording these days to newcomers) will choose wakeskating OVER wakeboarding. they will now have the chance to choose! that's why it's our responsibility to invite new people out to ride with us that know vaguely anything about wakeboarding OR wakeskating.
Captain, your demeanor on that website seemed quite different than this one. _________________

those dudes that talk about inconsistency on a wakeskate probably have never seen a wakeskater ride in person besides their little sister, and probably believe a wakeskate w2w 360 is the same difficulty as one on a wakeboard. _________________

Yeah, it's been almost two years since I last posted. I've been reading these forums occasionally, but not enough to keep up on my hatin'. |

The Captain: More power to you for keeping your head cool when you're taking what I'd consider unfair flak. Consistency is what makes the world go around and I'm having a hard time seeing why those cats over in the other forum kept giving you flak. Well, you stayed in there and finally made your point (after the X:th try). _________________ Jazz up your life !

one of my favorite lines from the whole thing
these guys seemed very nice compared to the image that was conveyed across WS.com, but regardless they seemed very ignorant towards the new sport. at one time wakeboarding was a questionable sport too, i doubt many of todays extreme sports were not looked down upon at one time. |
