The LCL is on the outside (lateral) knee hence lateral collateral ligament. Folding inwards blows out the MCL. The knee be forced inwards is called the Terrible Triad in med school, MCL, ACL, medial meniscus. |

thank you guys so much for the love. i took an MRI yesterday and will have my results by tuesday. Today i have my first physical therapy apoinment and it went really well. he was able to get my knee almost completly extended (which was the thing i was not able to do). I am hoping to be able to ride banksgiving so that is what i am praying for right now.... _________________ -andrew- |

| Best of luck with your knee, hope it isn't anything serious. When I had my MRI it picked up the MCL but missed damage to my LCL,I didn't know about the LCL untill I went back to my Dr. because of continued pain.I talked with a few other Dr.'s that said sometimes MRI's miss things.Always good to get 2-3 opinions. Hope you have a speedy recovery and get back on the water ASAP. |

I had the same surgery bro, its not too bad. I had it about two months ago.
make sure you rehab your knee once you feel better with a rehab trainer. my tear was pretty bad, and they couldnt stitch it up, so they just cut it out the damaged part. some tears can be stiched back together, and the recovery time is a lot longer than what I went through. you'll be riding again man, it sucks but its the risk we all take. get it fixed, rehab it, then strap on the brace and you'll be back out there in no time. _________________ integrity-wake.com | chriscut.com |

Chris Barcellos, thanks for the support. Mine isn't that bad of a tear, they don't need to stitch, they have to use this weird liquid bandage that is going to put the tear back into place and allow it to heal naturally. I should be back out in about 6 to 8 weeks depending on how the surgery goes. the main reason i am this bummed was i was supposed to go to banksgiving, ride the last stop of cable pro tour (in my home town) and ride pros and joes. so i am bummed my season has come to a screaching hault. All i can tell you that my halo/skate/gh3 steez will be off the chain YAY FOR NO LIFE _________________ -andrew- |

Ok. Re-read the post. I thought he meant his anlke went inwards. Obviously meant his knee went in. My bad
I've done the terrible triad + PCL + patelar tendon. |

Andrew Masi, i had to have that same surgery once... medial meniscus... surgery not bad, recovery not too bad, but if i could give you one piece of personal advice that i learned the hard way. it would be this:
DO YOUR PHYSICAL THERAPY!!! AND TAKE IT SERIOUSLY
i blew it off and it took me over a year before i could use my leg like i used too... and even now, 4 years later, i can't bend it all the way when it's cold out. do your self a favor and be militant about rehabbing that mother.
good luck, my prayers are with you _________________
