Hmmm…. How did I know that there was going to be more recycled footage from that photoshoot you guys did up in northern Ontario on the L13 Hubba rail?
Don’t get me wrong. I enjoy watching these. They’re well done. I liked seeing Coube’s K-flips, but I think it’s time to start getting new footage??? Am I just being an A$$hole, or have I seen Mark’s shove on that pyramid hubba in like 3 different versions?
Laid it on me one time.

Gavin, what is your deal? you must always say/do something negative about L13, doesn't matter what it is about, you say you love the crew, the graphics and all that jazz, but seriously dude, everytime something comes up, you seem to bring something negative to the table, then try to back your statement thinking everythings cool. and it seems you have total respect for every other ROC out there. if you really thought so highly about L13, you would not say this kind of shlt. i wasnt going to even bother with this, but its the 3rd time youve been an a$$hole towards L13.
do you see a pattern here?

and yea maybe if i had a little more time to get away from my full time job, saving for school up here in the fvcking snow, id be able to get some newer footage than what we got this summer.

I'm not going to agree or disagree with anyone on anything in this thead because emotions are running high.
I offer only this:
Perhaps if you are dealing with limited footage, maybe a weekly podcast isn't the answer you are looking for.

nick, i appreciate the advice, and footage is far from limited, I usually have every episode ready a week in advance, that is why recently i've been releasing them the night before. I just have trouble sometimes with what things i want to keep secret until durf. cuz then no one will be surprised when its done. actually i think people are going to be really surprised in coming months!

And what is the story behind the name? It's kinda phoenetically displeasing

im hoping to have it done mid april at the latest assuming everything goes well with the shoots i am planning. the music selection is reallly cool for it too
durf means like a reallly hard fall, we named it that because that was the theme of the trip we took in 2006, we took some hard falls, and all i can remember from the trip is mark and gaston randomly saying it like every 5th word. it was in some article we read in this ontario watersports magazine that had "wakeskate lingo" which included words/phrases like durf, shred, gnarly and "that dude's goin off HUGE"

Why wouldn’t I?
If you hold someone to a certain standard (in this case as a company representing Canada), why wouldn’t you offer some constructive criticism? Ok - Maybe a public forum is not the best place to voice said criticism, but hey . . . we post stuff online to get feedback.
Ironically, whether in writing, school, work or life, the folks who have been most critical of my work have, in the long-run, ended up being the most supportive.
| Quote: | | The Critical Friend is a powerful idea, perhaps because it contains an inherent tension. Friends bring a high degree of unconditional positive regard. Critics are, at first sight at least, conditional, negative and intolerant of failure. Perhaps the critical friend comes closest to what might be regarded as 'true friendship' - a successful marrying of unconditional support and unconditional critique. A John MacBeath; Professor of Education Leadership, Cambridge University |
If you surround yourself with unconditional positive enforcement, next thing you know, you’re left wondering why your American Idol audition bombed. If you want to get better at what you do, you need to learn to handle some constructive criticism and value those who are willing to take the time to give it to you.

it seems you have only ever had "constructive" criticism, and some unnecessary stuff at that. i do value the opinions of people on here, but a few have a bit of a pattern and have come off as haters.

how is that in any way constructive, you dont know how much footage we have from up there, and if the shot is good, why wouldn't i use it?
but you know what man i dont care anymore, im over it, when theres really nothing i can do about what you are suggesting i could care less that these people (including yourself) have seen that same trick from a different angle.
im glad you like them other than that.
fvcking winter got the best of me hahaha.
