Waveskating

Austin (awatts) and I winched the Pacific Ocean a couple of days ago. It was amazing. We had some pretty good conditions, and some big waves came in close to shore. We didn't get any shots of the biggest waves that we got into which was too bad, but we did get a couple of the smaller ones. Some of the waves were around 7ft, so much fun.

We used Austin's new winch for this session. It is such a sick winch, I think he posted pics of it in the winching forum on this site. the 9hp engine helped out a lot! While driving Austin in some of his waves I would even slow the winch down or speed it up so he could get into a better position on the wave.

Thanks for hauling your winch out man, I can't wait to do it again.

Cali is so much better for beach winching. Since there are so many coves and jettys and the beach isnt a straight line. Florida coast is pretty much just straight lol

Thanks guys. btw, the water was ~55 degrees. So you guys in Florida should be hitting it up for sure. I know I'd be out there during a hurricane trying to get into some big ones if I lived out there Very Happy

DirtyCracker, I would walk out and then swim out a ways, then deep water start. Near the end of our sesh the tide was going out and a rip tide formed. I started to use the rip tides current to suck me out Laughing

That is exactly what I hope to be doing when I get down to Orlando. How much rope do you think you where using?

I've got 600ft on my winch and I'd love to have a little more but I doubt I can afford it.

JB_CANSKATE, I have 600 on mine right now, but I think i'll be adding another 600 soon. Austin's has around 900ft I think. You're going to want to add some more eventually, but 600 will get the job done.
