As I mentioned in another thread I'm planning on raising money to buy a PWC in the spring and I would like to hear as much of your opinions, experiences and thoughts about which brands, and models are best for wake skating.

Answer the following questions regarding your ride:

-What model do you use?
-How much did you pay?
-How many hours on it?
-What service has the machine required?
-What is the wake/lip on it like?

Post pics!

I've been reading into it but alot of sites are from the point of views people who use them to cruise, not to tow. Please take the time to leave your opinion.

Thanks

Yea I've heard alot of people dislike Seadoo for one reason or another. I was hoping to keep away from seadoo if I found something else.

I'm also hoping to spend around 3000-5000.

Yamaha hands down. And I've ridden behind every brand of ski. All of my friends have different ski's. The two that have been in the shop the most are the kawasaki and the sea-dont. Go yami.. Best wake. Best engine. Easiest to keep at speed. Best Looking. VX1100 Delux you know you love that all black bottom. Plus you can get VX's with low hours for around 5-6 if you look hard.

My seadoo has been nothing but a champ and we run it hard. about 400 hours on it and nothing but the routine checkups for oil change and such.

we got a super nice 98 gtx for 2,500, pulls like a boat and it even tells you the water temp. NEVER get a two seater sea doo, they stink so bad, it takes a minute to pull you up and they bounce like crazy.

ive only ridden behiend a sea doos, but i guess reed hansen is a big kawasaki person

thats all that matters. Actually my friend david had a seadoo and it was almost a guarantee that it would break down everytime we took it out. We would place bets on when it would break down and we would try to cast spell and work witchcraft on the engine and control panel to get it to start. If we broke down we would try to sail back with towels or try to flag down people for a tow in. It was quite fun and it may sound weird but I have a fascination with riding behind old shiznackle boats and waverunners that are on there last lives.

I've got a 2000 Yamaha GP1200R millenium edition. Never had any problems with it so far. it had 50 hours on it when i bought it. I paid $3800 for it. It now has 100 hours on it and still no problems. But it takes some effort to get someone up. But i have no complaints. Except you have to hook the tow rope to the grab handle.
