If I recall correctly it is in the new 7 series platform, meaning you're looking $100k for a car. Other manufacturers aren't far behind, but it's not a matter technology. It's a matter of oil companies wanting to turn a profit. _________________ The aforementioned postings and musings are the opinions of myself in their entirety and are not the opinions of wakeskating.com |

yeah i was at the frankfurt auto show, and if i recall, they had a few hydrogen powered cars being shown.
DRAGON88, the 7 is also their top of the line, but i see what your saying. Maybe if they brought into a 3 series, it would be a little less expensive. _________________

in no way am i against hydrogen fuel cell cars. i beleive america needs to start being more self suffecient(spell?) and not depend on other countries as much as we do. Oil is our blood in america. Everything runs of of it. So anything that helps us transfer from oil into an alternte source im into. The EV1 was released in california by GMC. they were rented never sold. everyone that had one really like them, they were quiet, fast, effeciant, and you just had to plug them in. Im not sure what year is was but GMC recalled all of them and had every single on destroyed. Back then the battery would only let the car drive 120 miles per charge, but now we have batteries that go far further than that. You can look it up, there were alot of protest and stuff about this. GMC said they did it cuz people didnt want it. Which is partially true. But the car an oil companies had their hand in it to. Its just interesting to take a look at. Knowing that we could all be driving electric cars right now.
Scott A. in no way am i saying that they are better for the earth or whatever. i dont know enough about it to say either or. im just saying we wouldnt be paying 2.50+ for a gallon of gas right now. i would guess they would be for earth friendly but i couldnt really tell you for sure.
There are also other types of fuel alternatives such as plug in electric hybrids, bio diseal, and i tihnk there is a type of fuel made from cannabis, i think i read something about they are trying it in ireland or something like that. food for though. take everything with a grain of salt. peace and love in the souls |

man this is deep stuff. Jeff i keep having to remind myself that your in college....I was like, how does he KNOW that!?!?!?
Guys this is an awesome idea and i totally support it,but this kind of stuff is a long way off from becoming average, way more than 50 or so years. The more we try to let go of oil, the more the oil companys will hold on. They will probably attempt to lower prices or throw a huge campain to show it doesnt hurt the world. because the second we rely on these alternative fuels countries and economys will die.Venezuela. Saudi Arabia. And thats my 2 cents. |

WAKEMan1, i guarentee they will just jump onto the winning team... once oil companies see that hydrogen is popular and profitable they will just start selling it themselves... they will just convert to hydrogen... not fight it _________________ PAVT since '05/'06 |
