i've seen that some people on this site like sports, other like video games, some are bums, and apparently some like the mary J Laughing ....... soo i'm wondering what got you guys into wakeskating.

me, it was watching fuel TV one day, saw them doing it, so i decided to make my own wakeskate, came here for tips, and the rest is just history

Pretty much everything you just said summed me up. I like sports and games, I'm a total bum, and I'm a spodi-odi enthusiast. I was watching a wakeboarding tournament (I think that's what strappers call em) and it showed the wakeskate portion of it and soon afterward I bought a K-39. End o' story.

Seeing Grubb do a Jam session at one of the old boardstocks where my dad and I watched his stuff for him while he rode because the Pointless Posse took off and were nowhere to be found. He was cool to talk to and after watching him ride I knew I was done with wakeboarding.

one of my highschool teachers was into wakeboarding and in his computer class we would make compilations of his bails and stuff....i wanted a wakeboard baddddd.....then i was lookin around the net and noticed that the wakeskate i was looking at was a lot cheaper than a wakeboard. also i had experience skateboarding so i figured i would catch on easily...so asked for the board for christmas and it was smooth sailin from then on Wink

I was in Oklahoma at Lake Eufala visiting two great friends that I met out in Vail, CO. I showed these guys around the mountain their first year. They were a blast to hang out with. At night we would get blizzidy, snowskate and indo board but only we didn't use an indo board. it was an old cassette. so I felt like I had been wakeskating an entire winter. they said I had to come to their lake and do it up on the skate behind the tique. best trip I ever made. changed my life. anyway, They sold Nautiques for Thomas Marine, they also put on SPF if anyone knows of it. Anyway, got on the skate that trip and never wakeboarded again. seriously. asian J, he's the man. so wakeskating is what I wanted to do as much as I could, I decided to move back from the mountains, home to Wisconsin since we are the land of 15,000 lakes. boo yah Minnesota. anyway, if winchin would have been as solid in 02 as it is now, I may have never moved back. either way. glad to be back in Wisconsin, I love this place and you can skate eight months out of the year if you're not scared of losing fingers and toes. I really love wakeskating. everytime I go out I appreciate the time I have on the water and thank God for it all. there really is nothing I enjoy more and I look forward to days being like the ones I have had previous to this summer, no work and all play but for now, I am happy and grateful just to get my quickies. (members of the NCR know what I'm saying)
