Bonis69, I guess we have different priorities. I want to practice doing fashion airs and transfer them over to the wakeskate. Progression! Cool

I started wakeboarding in about 03, and started wakeskating not long after. I'm the least co-ordinated person you will ever meet, so i'm not much good at either. I still wakeboard when i'm feeling lazy, but i skate finless and with rounded rails, and wakeboard with 3 fins on each end and the centre fin's pretty fat, so the style doesn't really translate between.

I like wakeboarding, but my knees tend to complain about it alot the next day.

I started out wakeboarding in 2003, kind of liked it and stayed with it until I bust my ankle snowboarding and didn't really fancy sticking my foot into bindings again. A friend of mine gave me his wakeskate and I had the time of my life, finding everything that I had been missing with wakeboarding. The freedom and general different board-feel of a wakeskate is so much more satisfying than wakeboarding.

Tried wakeboarding this season and whacked the board through my helmet when I cought an edge and definitely won't be getting back on a wakeboard any time soon.

On top of that I don't like the way things are going in competitive wakeboarding here in Europe. It is turning into figure skating with everyone doing the same tricks and runs becoming so predictable and style just going under to sheer technical difficulty.

Wow, definitely more words than I wanted to write but I guess I feel more strongly about wakeskating than I thought Very Happy

Wakeskaters are generally the nicer people too Cool

Disaster_UNSW, i have generally never met a rude wakeskater.

i still do wkaeboard to this day and i still really enjoy it. depending where i am, i will ride both wakeskate and wakeboard. I like abilty to flip on a wakeboard, but i love the technicality of wakeskating. lately i have mainly been wakeskating.

but wakeskating is such a unique sport even though that it is linked to wakeboarding in a sense. but at the same time, people shouldn't rag on wakeboarding. almost every wakeskater has roots involving straps.

but they both are extremley satisfying when you clinch a new trick. you will never forget your first shuv it or kickflip. but at the same time you will never forget that first 720 or raley (make it rain Smash Smash).

i dont think i could let go of wakeboarding/ wakeskating, they are both passions of mine.

lastly, hate = ignorance

and those are my 2 cents

I rode wakeboards from 1995 - 2003.

Back in '03 a friend showed me the Kampus site. I bought a deck at the beginning of that summer and first got up on a skate behind a party barge just to see if it worked.

I have not even thought of riding a wakeboard since.

Learned to get up on a wakeskate last summer, bought one the next day, came on this site and read every thread, every night, posted a million times, and haven't tried anything else since..

Well i just got a skate this year, and try to keep time on both equal, i have only been out on the skate like 2 times. I went wakeboarding way more, mainly cause i didn't have the skate till august.

I can't see myself skating more than i wakeboard really, i still intend to go up for big air on the wakeboard, and just chill on the skate.

Never got big into wakeboarding, my knees couldn't take the falls and get yanked around. Last torn ligament was the end of that sh*t...

I've wakeboarder for about 2 years now and I tried wakeskating at the end of last year. This year pretty much all I've done is skate, but I still put back on the straps every now and then.

Man. I strapped fom 6th grade til freshman in college. I skated a few times over those years. like 5 or 6 times total. Most of which all during the same week. This year, i've fallen in loved. strapped 3 times in the spring, and been strapless water dancing ever since!
