|
|
So heres the lowdown, i have a 40" 484 deck and a 42" 484 deck which i spent a total of $50 for both. The 40" is in good shape but the 42" is pretty rough (weighs like 4lbs cause all the sealent is gone). So im thinking of making a bi-level with them. I have like 4 gallons of industrial strength epoxy laying around i can use to reseal both boards. And i was gonna use bushings from a skateboard truck to attatch them.
So my main questions are
-Should i use the epoxy to reseal the boards or use fiberglass ( i dont feel like dropping $100 or more in marine varnish), or will the epoxy and resin be too heavy?
- do you think i should cut down the 42 to a 40", or put the 40" on top of the 42"
- Do you think the bushings from a skateboard truck will work well?
As always, Muchas gracias seniors y muy bonita senoritas. |

| both are concaves, the 40 has way more concave than the 42 though. The problem with trying to mount the 42 on top of the 40" is the concave on the 40" gets in the way. But i like how the 40" rides since its a cassette shape. The 42" i have no idea if its a cassette or not cause i know 484 started designin their own after a while. |

i already used the search button, and what i found dealt with using a concave and a flat deck, also i learned using skateboard bushings work well (hence thats why i already mentioned it, i was just leaving it open for alternative options)
The only thing i was wondering with using the 42" on the bottom is leverage. I would think using a shorter board on top would take away from leverage when snappin the tail down. I may be wrong though.
Gracias por tus suggestions |
