Like the speaker said... it's a kickflip demo out there. I've got tons of pictures but I won't be able to post anything for the next few days. I felt Nick Taylor got ripped off when he lost to Grubb in the cable comp. I couldn't belive the level of riding on the non-competition riders in between passes... until I realized that Danny Hampson was riding. It was a fun day with many flips and Grubbs body surfing was pretty awesome. I'll post some of my pictures early next week.

Yea I think it sucked that Nick lost to Grubb in the boat comp in Volume 5. Nick matched his w2w tricks with more style on a 5 inch smaller board AND did lots of other stuff.

Is anyone else gettin a little sick of Grubb? I acknowledge that he is an innovator and one of the pioneers of wakeskating but he's been doing the same shizzle since like '02. And I don't have too big a problem with that, but I don't like the fact that he always (unjustly, IMO) wins comps over really sick riders and he's paid more than most pros. It's wrong, IT'S WRONG!!!

grubb is one of the most stylish riders ever, and he's an innovator especially about wake to wake tricks. i will always respect him for his riding. and his consistancy is just amazing.

jboss, Have you ever actually watched Grubb ride in a contest final?

I'm guessing you haven't from your comments above... Honestly he IS the most consistent rider out there.

Consistency and cleanliness wins contests... I don't always agree with the judges on their decisions, but for the boys on top its the beating Brian Grubb game still.

As of now Grubby is still the best contest rider out there...

I'm actually really surprised that Bret Little didn't make the final, that kid knows how to destroy the cable!

Grubb killed it this weekend. Im not a huge fan of Grubb, but for everyone giving him crap about only going w2w, I thought he had one of the cleanest rail sets of the day on friday. So smooth and landed every trick completely clean. And hit the A-frame. Props y0!.

I think it all comes down to the amount of time we have all been @ a contest and seen brian get beat and still come out on top, its seriously not his fault, judges just do it because they'll get shizzle from people who love grubb. @ toe jam on fri I heard people bitching about how unknown kids were beating them and I won't say names but it was un impressive and unsportsman like but I felt bad for the judge I saw gettin the shizzle

today, i don't really think nick got robbed. the match up between grubb and nick was close...each had their own tricks to match up each other...nick had a backside 3 off of the kicker, grubb had a switch frontside 3 off of the kicker ,etc. I would not want to be a judge--grubb is a wakeskate master and today nick always showed how much board control he really has.

there was a lot of great riding today and there is no need to hate on grubb especially from those of you that weren't even there to see what went on. and reed hansen had one heck of a day. i focused on my filming, but he had five different flip tricks in his finals pass (against bret little): (not in this order) kickflip, frontside flip, varial flip, tre flip and double kickflip.

and just to comment on grubb's riding on friday, he really did have one of the cleanest rail sets of the day. reed hansen also had a nice frontside heel, and ben horan fully deserved to win. All in all, it was a great weekend, and i apologize for not having prompt write ups, as my computer access is limited. but I filmed almost all of the action from friday and saturday, and hopefully someone will edit that.

Almost all grubbs video parts consist of: bs3, ts shuv to indy, fs 3 and sometimes an other trick but this is mostly it.

You say grubb has been doign the same stuff since 02. Thats bs. At Wakestock he stuck a w2w ts Fs big spin. Has any other guys been pulling those lately? Grubb deserves all the wins. Hes a good rider and good guy. Let him bask in the glory. Nick taylor deserves alot of respect for always being up against grubb. Nick will win it soon and it will make his vicotry even that sweeter. It will just push nick and other riders to rider harder and better. As a spectator we will only see better tricks and a better show. SO dont judge Grubb, Im sure if you were in his shoes you wouldnt be too sad.
