There would be weights on a bar and they would slid to the side thats flipping
it would be half the weight of the weights in the vinyl with the same effect on flip tricks . go to www.freewebs.com/777wake for more

seems like it would be an inconsistant flip that rotates off axis often.

maybe it would work but im a little skeptic, im not knocking the idea it seems legit, but to me it seems like the board would ride funny when the weights are moving around while you are just cruisin, but im prolly wrong

your board would flip and spin very ackward, it would slow down then speed up causing predicitibility to be lost. Just my opinion though.

Exactly. Look at surfing, skating, snowboarding and wakeboarding. How have those decks progressed? Only with materials, like carbon fiber and other composites. It's nice to think that these clever desgins might further the progression of the sport, but it's doubtful.

well new ideas that progress the sport come out of trial and errors like this. i mean, it's hard to think of one idea until you see one that doesn't work.

i have an old SURFING mag from '89. they asked a bunch of shapers what they thought the next big progression in surfboard manufacturing would be. Al Merrick said that the next big thing would be when they can put kind of a pivot point in the boards so they flex and drive even harder. 15 years later=Firewire. As stupid as the idea sounded back then, it made people think.

i thought of the same idea, but the only problem i had was with getting the weights to re center (some spring system could fix this) and the flips were actually very in consistent, and very hard to work with. i think weights in the center are best for now

i think ppl should start lookin at constructing skates like snowboard kind of. Put reshapable rails (omen), do a wood core with fiberglass/carbon fiber etc. wrapping it and keeping the wood protected. Also what about using some bamboo which will make the skate extremely snappy and bamboo is near impossible to break. Also running birch along the sidewalls would allow the skate to sit a lil deeper in the water when on edge.

If i had the time id build and test.
