|
|
i need to get a wetsuit for this winter and have it narrowed down to two wetsuits, 1) quicksilver syncro 4/3 fullsuit, 2) ripcurl core fireskin 4/3 wetsuit.
I want the wetsuit to keep my nice and toasty but dont want to drop a fortune, i found the syncro for 90 and the fireskin for 137. Just need help deciding since i dont know much.
Muchas Gracias seniors and muy bonita senoritas |

Not sure but 4/3 might be too much.. it may be a little restrictive. I ride in December around here (NJ) and a 3/2 is just fine. _________________ ------------------------------------------------------

goride, i rode all winter in a 3/2. make sure you try on a bunch of sizes so you find the perfect fit. if the suit is big at all it wont matter if it is the best suit in the world or a jobe from costco. make sure it is tight. you want it as tight as is comfortable. go as small as you can handle. and make sure it has good seams. no flatlock seams.
i have the oneill heat 3/2 and it kept me very warm all winter. i stayed almost completely dry too. get some oneill heat 3mm socks too. they are the key to winter riding.
try them on before you buy. dont guess. |

| goride, 4/3 is thicker then you need and it is less flexible and more restricting |

well.. they are both great wetsuits, the only difference i would say is that the 4/3 is a little more restrictave, but most of quicksilvers wetsuits are very flexable and comfortable for any size, but depending on how cold it is where u ride. personally i like the 3/2 but i used to live in texas and now i live in georgia so it really never got TOO cold!
lol
but what ever one u chose im sure u will love it! _________________ tww 4 life

| brentwood is right next to discovery bay, which is on the delta, which is located in the east bay area, which is then located in the beautiful california. |

| I wear a 4/3 quicksilver. It is not restrictive at all and I can wear it out in Santa Cruz in January no issues. |

Whatever you buy make sure it has sealed seems. Cheapo suits do not, more expensive ones do. Your 3/2 with sealed seems will be warmer than a 3/4 without. It is the cold water re entering the seems that makes a cheap suit not so warm.
There is a reason why you can get a wetsuit at cosco for 60 bucks! |

| both suits im lookin at have sealed seems. I called some shop whos gonna get back to me about the difference between the rip curl core fireskin and the quicksilver ignite. So far he says the fireskin will keep me a little bit warmer allowing me to drop down to a 3/2 and keeping nice and toasty. But he said the quicksilver is a really stretchy well built suit. |

i can go out surfing in 45* water with a 4/3 for at least 2 hours, but that's staying submerged, so a 3/2 might be all you need.
but the way they make 4/3's nowadays, the new '08 4/3's are prolly as flexible as a '06 3/2. it's crazy how much better they get every year.
but definitely taped seams and good fit are the most important issues. they make most sizes in short and tall so get the best fit. i'm a rip curl fan myself. i had a suit that was two years old and they still did work on it for me for free. _________________ skim it, skate it, slash it, bash it...ride hard. |
