you want as little rocker as possible. so basically a flat board with a little rocker in the nose you it doesnt nose dive constantly. a bigger board is heavier so it sinks quicker which means a shorter ride. keep it light and flat

51" x 20" x 3/4"

with the rocker completely flat at the tail and alittle forward continuous rocker (1"-1.7")

about 2 feet by 4 feet 1/2 inch birch with like a half inch rocker on the nose only, thats what i did, and it actually works fairly well, sounds like it would fill your needs
