how bad of a tear ? its not bad, i would say about 2 weeks... but i would go check with a doctor.. my sister just tore her tendon and possibly her muscle in her ankle. if it is bad she needs surgery. so you need to see.

just take a break from anything really active for a little while and it should heal up.

about one month ago i dislocated my hip on a failed w2w shuv ( the one leg on one leg off thing) saw it coming tried to bail didnt really work out but it popped back in and i couldnt even pull myself into the boat without tremendous pain messed my muscles and tendons all up waited it out for about a week and then started riding again still hurts everytime but its bearable and everytime i think its healed it flares up again but i guess if you are willing to sit out for a while then go with that otherwise i decided i want to ride too much.

Bustamove, i had something similar to that a while ago you think it might be like a pinched nerve?

Bustamove, you probably wana go on about.com (link below) and read up about it. I was riding a few times a week until i got sharp pains in my forearm and had to take more time off, never figured one could get tennis elbow from wakeskating, but then i'm getting old i guess Birthday Smash

P.S. The only thing I hate about wakeskating are splits (i.e. the one leg on and one leg off thing)!

It all depends on what kind of pain is in your back.. if its a sharp pain (like a needle in one area)when you move in different direction or when picking something up, its most likely a pinch nerve, if its more like a bouding feeling like its all over your lumbar(lower back) then its just a pulled muscle and no bigger, take some time off, if you see the doc he'll prob give you some anti inflam. thats about it. in the mean time go to the gym and do some back exercises and stretch your hamstrings out as much as you can. alot of back injuries come from not having enough flexiblity in your hanstrings.... touch your toes alot or attempt to everyday. remember im no doc.. i just know a little bit and dont bend at the waist to pick things up use your knees, any other questions children?

yea, how about a shoulder that when i fall the wrong way it sorda dislocates, but never completely pops out. it is just a hassle and it hurts pretty bad when it happens. Im almost positive surgery is the only fix.... any of you guys had this happen?

skatefilly, i've had a few rugby-player friends who frequently dislocate their shoulders. While they say it's something you kinda get used to, i think it's either rest-rehab or surgery. I'd say if you feel it whilst falling off a wakeskate, you'd probably wana get a orthopaedic doc to look at it, it's neither a hard fall nor a soft one so a doc would probably be able to diagnose your condition best.

oh yeah with the split leg move, i've always heard of pulling your groin muscle but i had a call a couple of weeks ago and the kid snapped his femur. his back leg fell off the back and all the pressure went to the femur and snapped it. so watch out
