UPDATE page 3
My old foam top Catalyst had had its run, so I ordered a 07 LF Maven, plus a pair of pink Etnies, plus a new JetPilot vest, and some spooge ('cause I still love my tried and true wakeboard) from buywake.com. Spending over $400, I was entitled to free shipping, but I paid the extra to have it overnighted because I wanted to ride that weekend.
My stuff arrived and I excitedly tore into the box. Alas, no fins! I called buywake, got voicemail and left a message. No return call. I called again a few hours later and left a message. No return call. I called again a few hours later and someone answered. I told him that my fins were missing. He asked me if I looked in the box... UHHHH YEAH! He said I should look again, so I gave him the benefit of the doubt. DUDE, THERE ARE NO FINS IN THIS BOX. So he said he'd ship me some out. I explained that I'd paid the extra to get my stuff overnight and I felt that he should either overnight my fins or refund my shipping money. He gave me some burnout explanation of why he couldn't overnight the fins, which I didn't understand, but he insisted was the case. I reiterated my request to refund my shipping costs, he put me on hold. Forever. Finally he came back, said he'd ship my fins regular post, but refund my money. I repeated what he said, to confirm the information. He said "That's what I said!"
Where I come from, we say, "Yes, ma'am."
So, my fins finally arrived, but not in time for what I needed them for, which was a week and a half later.
So I go to put my new fins on... they aren't the right fins. I call again, and ask to speak to the same guy. Oh yes, I got his name. He insists he sent me the correct fins and that's all he had to say about that.
So, Billy from buywake.com, wherever you are, please come over and show me how to fit these too small fins onto my new wakeskate. On second thought, never mind. I'll go to the competitor.
Sorry for the long rant. It's now a month later and my new skate is still sitting. I can't say it's unused, but riding a dump truck is not ideal.
I hope this is the right place to post this. On my Bronco forum, we are allowed to post bad vendor reviews after we have given the vendor a chance to remedy the situation. Buywake has been a pain in my arse for a month now and it seems I'm on my own with this one.

Only ordered from them once and everything went fine...but I won't order from there again becuase of the way they treated your purchase. Support boardstop.com or a local shop. |

when orders are shipped correctly things are great, it 's how they handle the orders with problems that make a good shop or not.
I have never had problems with them.
I will bash scuba.com. those chumps were a pain in the ass to deal with........
I would rather hold my breath than buy anything from them. _________________ Dick Dale for President! www.dickdale.com

I don't see any problem with postings bad vendor reviews because it lets the other riders in the community know who they should and shouldn't deal with. I personally use wakeside.com and I've never had a problem with them. It's sad to hear about wakeshops with poopy customer service. |

i also had horrible customer service with buywake
ok i bought the a jetpilot vest had some problems so i emailed the guy from jetpilot and said buywake should replace it so i emailed buywake and they said they wouldnt replace it because of some stupid reason
so i keep talking to jetpilot and they decide to send me an even more expensive vest because of the shipping costs and because of the trouble with buywake
so now i am rockin with my new vest
jet pilot customer service is the best i have ever dealt with
buywake was my favorite store too |

Sho nuff. I will PM you my info. Preesh!
The Etnies were listed in their women's wakeskate shoes and they work out decently, definitely grabby. They're the Callicuts in pink and brown. My only problem with them is that they take literally days to dry out unless they are sitting in direct sunlight. I mostly bought them for cute factor, so no worries really. I will probably end up with another skate shoe and keep these for street use.
I did a search for buywake.com here before I posted this, and several people had posted questions regarding opinions on them. Well, this is my opinion: |

haha that sounds like some of the people from the ambush shop... they kinda have a carelessness when they talk, like he responded "thats what i said" i can imagine them saying that because they're 20 and, i dunno, but the wakeboarding guys reminded me of the "surfer dude" stereotype...
i still like them though since thats where i've gotten my wakeboard/skate/clothes and the replaced my life jacket for free... its a sick store though itself, but a bit of a drive _________________

I have personally spent over $5,000.00 with Buywake in the past two years. Awesome awesome customer service. I would not hesitate to send anyone there. Granted, it s a business, and from time to time at any business, some things will be overlooked.
They have even hand delivered product to me when I needed it in a pinch (granted, I live in ATL).
Also, why do you even need fins? |
