Just keep on trying man, you'll get it eventually but for some, the only thing that helps is experience. Try not to think about it too much. Just kinda let it flow. While you're learning them, focus more on spinning and landing rather than popping it well. That will come later. And remember, you're moving pretty fast so you've got to jump with the board, don't just expect it to stay under you _________________ - Evan Molina |

| Slapdown, the funny thing is, i dont try to pop it, yet my friend tells me im popping it about 1 1/2feet in the air 0_0.. can't seem to do it without popping, i guess moving the front foot thing automatically gets it going up, i got a severe case of swimmers ear, doc gave my eardrops+antibiotic pills cuz he didnt think the ear drops would penetrate due to the swolleness, anyways ill post progress next time i go out (1-2 weeks) and anything for keeping it from going to my right (i ride regular) |

dont use your front foot to spin it, just scoop it with your back foot. _________________ Team Dream Sleds

what helps me is to make a concious effort to keep your feet sucked up and out of the way, when i ollie before trying it i pratice getting my feet up and not pushing the board down with my feet, but instead let gravity start pulling me down then level off, its hard to explain, and it might just sound like nonsense, butit works for me......sometimes _________________ I run show where ever I go. |

| ImSoWakested, it sorta make sense, instead of ollying and coming back down with your feet, stay sucked up and land that way??? |

crispy, kinda, you dont land in a crouch tho, its just i know sometimes i force the board back down to the water faster than i need too. if i focus on really letting gravity pull the board back down it helps me keep my feet out of the way on stuff _________________ I run show where ever I go. |

ImSoWakested, i got a bad ear infection on my wake to wake attempts!!!! slammed right on one side too many times - so swollen THEN after like 2 weeks it moved into my other ear after i rode - be careful i know they are painful....good luck - get swimmers ear drops for when it is healed!
so my question on the shoves is that i generally ride with one fin - should I teach myself the shove finless first??
AND does it matter which way i spin it? I practice on my carpet all the time with my board although I am sure it is not the same. |

deesk8, lol sorry to hear it, but yeah it was someone else with swimmers ear, crispys right, bs you kick board back so the tail spins behind you, FS the tail crosses the front of your body, taking the fins off will make it easier to spin initiate the spin, the down side to this is sometimes you neglect to pop the board, so it turns into a surface shuv. its not a bad way to start tho, learn the rotation and how it should feel then work on pop. _________________ I run show where ever I go. |

David_Roehm, thats good too. But if dont want to scratch up your board, do it on a trampoline or on the carpet. But it does allow you to get a little bit of a feel for it. _________________ Some people make birdhouses, some people knit sweaters. I star in high-quality pornographic films. To each his own... |

| slow it down. find your best ollie spot and remember to ollie first. I wait till I really feel smooth on the board and then go with the flow for tricks. Try flats first and then the wake. Also get really dialed on a skateboard a wakeskate moves fast especially if you aren't popping it smooth. hope that helps |

| when i was learning shuvs it def helped to try not to concentrate on what i was doing, just grind the wake and cut out of a whim and throw it, whenever i actually thought about the trick i never landed it. Just DO it hah |

| ok thanks, ill try all of the above, though David_Roehm, i can do shuv's consistantly on the dock/carpet/grass or anything but water you can name, i can even do them on a skateboard, even though i cant even roll on the daggon thing, funny eh? but yeah, i noticed going a bit faster makes it easier to pop the board, even though i feel a tad bit out of control, do you guys think i should learn at a faster speed, then attempt when i got a feel for the board more? |

| the speed you are most comfortable at, it shouldn't matter. But don't go slow enough where you are sinking. |
