scariest moment of my life

I was riding on the river today, and all of a sudden I see all these bubbles and stuf comen up right by me. Then I feel this long like slimyish almost thing rub up aghainst me. And we aren't talkin a fish either, this sucker was big. I think it may have been a mantee, or possibly some kind of shark(but I prefer not to think that). but I jsut started yellin get me out of this water, get me out now. I just new I was about to get eatin by a bull shark or somethin. the bad part is I was tryin to get in the boat, and my dad was standin there tryin to help me out, but he was just in the way, I bought pissed my pants (actually i may have, I did have to pee, and didn't end up peein)

it usually is fresh water, it was pretty brackish today cuz the tide had just come in but most the time it is freshwater, but the manatees and bull sharks both swim in freshwater anyways. but most the time the water is to shallow for sharks and stuff. I'm usually standing when I fall

thats scray man , i live in canda and i get scared of museke they been now to ripp peoples hands off, and they killed a baby once,

anywho when i went to FLA i was pretty scared of the aligators, until dave brisco caught one and then let me hold it

my dad always worrys about goin to small lakes cuz hes worried bout gators, it doesn't both me that much, i figure i'm much more likely to die in a car accident or even a boat accident then I am to get eaten by gators

HOW TO DEFEND YOURSELF AGAINST ALLIGATOR ATTACKS
This might only apply to those of us who live in Florida or the steamy bayous of Louisiana, or those of you who live in the reptile exhibits of certain zoos. You may be surprised to hear that alligator attacks actually happen a lot in certain parts of Florida, in fact they happen so much that if you’re a resident you can actually write it off on your taxes. Now the first thing you’re going to want to do when you see an alligator while in the water is panic and thrash around a lot. Basically, do as much as you can to look like a sick and wounded manatee that would make an easy meal. There are some that would tell you that this can make the gator scared and threatened, thus giving him the instinct to defend himself, but those people are probably communist hippies that don’t want you to hurt the “poor wittle awigator”. Once you’ve lured the ‘gator into this false sense of security, take both of your thumbs and pry open the gator’s mouth and place your wakeskate, lengthwise, inside the ‘gator’s mouth. Now swim to shore with your free hand, drag the ‘gator up on land, start a fire with some sticks and brush, put the ‘gator out of his/her misery with a large branch and cook yourself a little Louisiana fricassee.

dude it was probably an eel, we have tons in my lake and they are really big and nasty looking. last summer i fell, looked to my left and there was a 10 foot gator about 10 feet away from me, it stared at me and submerged, my balls went into my throat. the worst part was my friends were dropping someone off at the dock, i still dont like going in that lake

WHats a manatee? You may be scared of being eaten by a gator or what ever, but you've got more chance of being involved in a car crash. I'm not sure if theres even 10 people who die of crocodile attacks in AUstralia each yeah, and crocodiles are way more vicious then gators.

a manatee is commonly called a manatee, its like this big huge animal, that couldn't hurt a fly, but if it rubbed up aghaisnt you would still scare the crap out of you

o and the water in my river is extremely nasty so i couldn't see what it was, anything more than like a half a foot down can't be seen

yea same here, thats why the river is slowly but surely b/c no wake, it sucks

Well your encounter was probably an eel. If it was shark it wouldn't have been a slimey touch but a sandpaper and it probably would've biten you.

I know that feeling too well. I ride in the steamy bayous of Louisiana that El was speaking of and you can not see your hand if you put it an inch under the water. Sometimes while waiting for the boat to come back around, something may brush up against you or jump out of the water next to you. Your mind can really play tricks on you while sitting there having no idea what is going on under the water.

Your alligator defense method might just work. We usually just catch them, throw them in the boat and let them hang out for a while and listen to some tunes.
