buywake.com will prob be your best bet. I like the byerlys. They might be the cheapest out there. |

I think it works well to take old skate shoes and give them the strip down to convert them into wakeskate shoes. I took an old pair of Kostons and cut out the panels on the side and drilled holes in the bottom and now those suckers drain out as soon as I am up and riding. I am not really about spending cash on new shoes when I could just use some old ones that are already paid for. _________________ death before dishonor.

i have a pair of og koston 1's. i would never cut them up. but shoes i ever skateboarded in. oh yeah byerly's are the bomb. so much easier to swim in. my friend rides cheap as kmart dunlop volley slip ons and prefers them over the byerly's. _________________ the tap - crailtap.com

i wear adidas turf soccer shoes, they don't put a lot of surface area on the board but they hold hardly any water at all, i've wakeskated in them for over two years and they still are holding up. rubber is almost shot though. _________________ woo. |

I noticed someone said buywake.com was the cheapest for byerlys...unless they are running a sale I got mine from boardersparadise.com with shipping for the same price as they are listed on buywake w/o shipping _________________ "I do not fear death. I grasp it by both hands and edge hard" |

i ride a pair of es' rovers. they drain really well and are a lot more comfortable than the byerly's and they dont fall apart like a lot of the different skate shoes do in water. |

DVS Dresdens (mesh) ... awesome shoes...! Think they're under $70...It's light and the sole is soft enough to get a good feel of the board, and drains very well... Only downside is its quite prone to griptape wear... but still holds up well.....
I've also got a pair of Byerlys which are good, but they can feel a little stiff.... especially after having them dried out. I'm on my second pair now.. the first pair died cos the sole peeled off... reckon if they'd stiched the sole, it'll last helluva lot longer...
Dunno if i've given any good advice there, but my gf's using a regular pair of converse that we picked up for just under 50bucks... the synthetic leather material's kinda ideal for the wet... and they don't soak up too much water.. told her we should drill some holes in it to help it drain better... but she couldnt bear to.. with shoe all new and pink and girly and stuff....haha.....
Anyhow.. just some thought into what you could look out for in a shoe... hope it helps... |
